There was a lower hp rx8 model, lower than the 250, 238, 232. It was driven by Top Gear Clarkson, and it was a 228 hp model.

So, the releases have been anywhere from 228 hp to 250 hp. But still, a fairly narrow range. Should still be well above 200 hp by 2013.

God bless the latter part of this comment as there are many owners who would have fought you on that point exactly. I've made the mistake of not including that disclaimer and gone through similar with other's, even some in this thread

I think the Top Gear 228 is bhp, which is a different calculation from the 232 (or 238), and includes clutch/flywheel loss I believe. Not saying that our number isn't all over the board, but different calculations for a few of them at least.
