I think your better off without the Aztec on the list. That is one ugly car man....
at least there are some other pretty good looking cars there in your company.
RufusVonStorm. Have you seen the 2011 300hp v6 mustang coming out? 30mpg highway. NA.
They likely didn't fix the water pump yet though.. LOL

For over-hyped, how about every V6 mustang ever made that still calls itself a mustang?
It's sad that we live in a world where 40-50million americans see nothing wrong with a driving around an automatic, V6 "mustang" that needs the FORD never fail 50k alternator & water pump replacement bundle. That's not an overhyped car and the rx-8 is?
Or maybe the hummer H3? I-5 with no more clearance than your neighbor's X5, and can't get out of its own way, overhyped maybe?
Geez

World's first torque free powerplant??? If people seriously think a Renesis has no torque, go drive a Civic or any other car with a small engine. Go drive an S2000. Sure a rotary has less torque that a worthless in today's car world V8 but that doesn't mean that it's torque free. It's a small engine with a short stroke. What do people expect? The fact that it's so smooth makes power delivery deceiving.
FWIW: A formula 1 engine has far less torque than many street cars do! Read my sig in regards to torque.

Am i missing something?
The 8 (MAYBE) makes marginally more torque <6000 rpm.
The s2k definitely makes more >6000 rpm.
ap1's will also dyno (dynojet) 195-200+ whp all day long. ap2s a bit more

Um, you guys do realize this is on MSN, therefore it's not really targeted towards car enthusiasts like us?
I understand the outrage if it's on autoblog or caranddriver, but it's msn people...
What's next, bash on Oprah because she mentioned the RX-8 isn't a good choice for her audience? Good Home Living doesn't like the amount of maintenance this sports car needs? Entertainment Weekly doesn't like it as a celebrity hot ride?

The feel of the RX-8 is amazing, despite it being underpowered, and an oil/gas guzzler. Big deal, its an effin sportscar! They do make Prius' for those that care about **** like that. Not to mention, the aftermarket has grown nicely in the past 2 years for the 8.

LOL, this guy obviously knows nothing if he claims the F348 has bland and boring styling. It's styling lead to probably one of Ferrari's best selling cars of all time the F355.
Pay no attention to this list, this guys is smoking something.

The hype started with the RX-evolv concept back in 2000. Mazda was saying the renesis was going to put out over 300 NA horse. It was also claiming that it would be lighter than the RX8 ended up being. Then they had to revise the actual output when the it did come out. I still love driving the RX8, but initially it was overhyped.
And the guy that wrote the article is retarded.

The who editorial lacks any polish. The following quote was taken from the Aston Martin Vanquish slide, the comment just looks wrong to me:
It wasn't until the swan song S was unveiled that the Vanquish finally got the chassis it deserved - until then, buyers forked out over $300,000 for a car that wasn't really very good.

"guzzles oil"
it seems like everyone who doesn't actually own an 8 seems to think this is the worst thing in the world.
Does it actually bother anyone at all that you have to add a little oil every few fill ups......? I would say far from guzzle it's around 1 bottle between every oil change. I guess some people can't handle spending about as much as they spend on one gallon of gas.
