NASA results from Buttonwillow

ROBERT DAVIS RACING SWEEPS PERFORMANCE TOURING CLASSES AT BUTTONWILLOW

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif., May 2, 2008 -- Robert Davis Racing (RDR) today announced another successful race weekend, as the team swept the Performance Touring (PT) B, C, and D classes at Buttonwillow Raceway Park on April 25th and 26th. The team won three classes in two races for six total victories for the weekend. The team’s Mazda MX-5 drivers in the popular and competitive Spec Miata class showed great improvement, with a pair of top ten finishes.

As in previous weekends, success came with much action in the pits as an electrical gremlin again plagued the #76 car of Jim Daniels. Transmission woes slowed the PTD car of Robert Davis.

Weekend Box Score: Saturday Sunday

Jim Holloway PT(B) 1st 1st

Dennis Holloway PT(C) 1st 1st

Scott Shelton PT(D) 1st 1st

Robert Davis PT(D) 3rd DNS

Jim Daniels PT(C) 3rd 2nd

Jeremy Barnes SM 7th 6th

Jeff Jeppesen SM 14th 11th

The next team event is at Willow Springs the weekend of May 24th. Come out and cheer RDR on as they fight to continue their PT sweep.

About RDR:

RDR has been a dominant force on the west coast in SCCA Club Racing, winning regional, divisional and national titles for the last six years. While the team still supports the SCCA, NASA has given it the opportunity to race in different classes, eliminating much of the inter- team competition. MAZDASPEED Motorsports Development’s new support of NASA also aided the transition, as the team’s goal is to capture three NASA National titles at Mid Ohio later this year.

RDR appreciates the support of Mother’s Polishes, Waxes, and Cleaners, Manheim Auctions, Hoosier Racing Tires, MAZDASPEED Motorsports Development, Racing Hart, Nippon Paint, Racing Beat, Speed Source, Hawk Brakes, Racing Beat, AWR, Classy Car Auto Detailing, Sparco, Motul, Armor Shield, Pure Power, and EMI.
Robert Davis is of course the vice- president of Mazda North America. Its guys like him at Mazda that keep us in fun to drive cars. He's also been tagged as the possible replacement for current Pres and CEO Jim OSullivan. Of course you may notice Jeremy Barnes in the list driving a Spec Miata too

There is a some info about one or 2 or RDR's RX-8s im trying to pin down. Ill let you know as soon as i pin down some confirmation.
