news on the rotary riots
Hiroshima, Japan -- Angry protesters continue to clash with riot police, in a day filled with tear gas, bean bag rounds, and gasoline soaked rags. A few streets away from the violence, United Rotary Alliance members peacefully hold their signs and chant "No rotor, no motor!" for hours at a time.
The URA was formed in definace of Mazda's new and controversial rotary-hybrid engine, named "16X." Its members claim the new rx7 failed to live up to proud legacy standards, and cite the numerous dyno numbers posted at 16xclub.com, an internet bbs well known as a hideout for dominatrix fetish and organized crime.
"80 horsepower on the dyno is what we're getting. Even accounting for 30 percent drivetrain losses, that's still far short of the 150 horsepower being advertised."
Passing by the demonstration, a Mazda executive remarked "In order to meet our fuel economy and performance standards, new hybrid technologies needed to be developed and incorporated into the design. We met our goals by first dropping one of the rotors to reduce the weight. Next we created the rotary-piston hybrid engine. It is basically a three cylinder reciprocating engine, but the rotary styling cues emblazoned on the engine cover give it the unique "rotary-ness", if you will. And, as a bonus, you get 41 mpg highway."
"If the URA is concerned about horsepower numbers, perhaps they should all take a look at our new Mazdaspeed3 Supercharged. It's quite a beast."
URA members have little choice but to wait for the arrival of the "R3" edition sometime early next fall. Currently, it is rumored to include a "track" suspension tuning, new interior leather scheme, and neon LED rotary styling cues.

Huge hole is huge
Anybody who even believed that need to get their heads out of their asses, me thinks.
I mean, come on.
