I think that we will see this engine sooner that we all think . At this point of time we can no longer order 2008 Mazda RX-8's .

 

thats because of the facelift- nothing to do with the 16x

 

btw i kinda hope they make the facelift liekthat white "renegade" in your avatar. id love that in the oem material on my car

 

god, me too!!! I have always loved that front end.

 

It will not work that way. The direct injection will require a new PCM program most likely, and I'm not sure if this is backwards compatible to our current ECU.

From what I know...other Mazda ECU's...for example MS3/6 are the same as ours...

Those ECU's also have to deal with DI...so its not inconceivable that our current ECU is more than up to the task and simply requires a software update...

 

yea, and the size of the motor being the same if not smaller, then it should bolt up fine, and all we have to worry about is the tranny and the engine harness.
