R&T RX-8 Long Term Test Update 11-04

Road & Track has an update for the 8's Long Term Test in the November issue.

"The Mazda RX-8 continues to be a staff favorite, whether for an extended trip or the commute home. Either way, staffers are finding that it has a fine blend of qualities of which many cars possess only one. It's a car you truly relish on back roads :p :p , yet its comfortable ride means you aren't the least bit offended when stuck with highway only duty."

7500 mi check up done no issues, using oil , some don't like removing engine cover, flat tire ... new tire $256 Potenza, 12,596 mi, 16.5 mpg
Another positive report.

I'll add a link once the article is available on their site.

Great to hear that R&T is loving theirs as much as we are loving ours.

I agree with their findings, my car is a joy to drive in just about any driving condition. And, knock on wood, has been near flawless to date. I wonder if R&T's mpg has improved any, it was one of their minor nits during their 1st long term introduction report.

A magazine, here in my country, does a long term test on the 8 along with other cars, Subaru, S2k and EvoVIII.

In alomost a year now (11 months) it has been driven for about 30k kilometers and it's one of the cheapest cars to maintain. Total amount spend: LESS than 250Euros, mainly for services and oil...

R&Ts average mpg has gone up from 15.9 (8-04 issue) to 16.5 in this report.

Keep up your tracking of the articles about the 8. Great info!
