RX-8 on Anglesey Circuit in Fifth Gear 11/7
Fifth Gear seems to be featuring the RX-8 a lot this season. I know I'm not alone feeling disappointed that Tiff didn't take the RX-8 on the track when he reviewed the RX-8 last year.
Well, the most the recent UK episode has Vicki pitting the RX-8 against the Alfa Romeo GT. It was less than a half-second difference between them so I wouldn't spoil the excitement (or disappointment) by revealing which car won
.
In any case, the balanced chassis was praised but Vicki complained that the steering wheel is a little too big and the 2-3 upshift is notchy. Tom also commented on the poor mileage and the need to add oil. But over all, they still recommended the car.
For the non-UK members, you can get your Fifth Gear fix here: http://www.finalgear.com/downloads/fifthgear/8/5/

FWIW, I went back to that old episode where Tiff reviewed the RX-8 and Vicki drove the Nissan 305Z and Audi TT (V6) on the same track. So, now we have another similar comparison between these cars with the same driver and same track.
Here are the times:
Nissan 350Z - 59.6s
Audi TT V6 - 64.6s
Mazda RX-8 - 55.53s
In defense of the 350Z's slower time, Vicki's driving wasn't as good as she is now today. Her lap in the 350Z was a little messy.

Try going through this web page to figure out the ports that you need to open for incoming connections: http://btfaq.com/serve/cache/25.html
Most colleges don't block traffic. Assuming that, it's most probably your personal firewall. The key to a good transfer speed is the ability for the other nodes to open up a connection to your PC.

Although I will check out that other sight even though I have no idea how to change ports. My torrent program is BitTorrent 3.4.2

definately go with azureus. its a much better client.
but, if you are having problems, and you are on a college network, there probably isn't anything you can do about it, unless you know the person incharge of school's network and can get him/her to open those ports for you...but i wouldn't bet on that. most schools closed those ports to steam the amount of bandwidth BT uses, and to limit their liability in any possible copyright infringment suits.

I watched that, and was a bit disappointed by VBH's comments re: steering wheel. I also didn't know that Tom Ford owned an '8 (now has a Monaro).
Looking at the more complete table on the five.tv website - I'm sorely disappointed to see the Fiesta ST posting better times than the '8...That just can't be right - but I think they're Tiff laps?

The right most column shows you who the drove the car and it was Tiff that drove the Fiestas.

I just watched it. Big steering wheel? She's crazy. Of all the things to complain about.
The rx-8 showed waaaay more bodyroll than i was expecting. It was almost difficult to watch. Imagine what sways would do there. I still expected it to get a better time since the track didn't have many straightaways. When tiff reviewed it last season he was praising it...i'll take his opinion over vicki's.

Oh and I'd just like to see a review of this car where they DIDNT complain about adding oil. They make it sound like you have to add a quart every 100 miles. I honestly think theyre just repeating what they read in the longterm R&T (or C&D?) test.
