I learned to drive in an MT car. I decided I could live with driving in "manushift" for a while to decide the other issues.
In a few more months, I can sell/trade for a new MT. Will only owe 14-15k and have about 18k miles, 18 month warranty on the car. I think I will do fine.
Just can't believe I get called out as a "grandma" with "no *****" on Rx8club.com

So you're saying basically that you are doing some type of "test drive"? Seems like a lot of money to spend/risk to decide if its the car for you. My argument is simply that if you are going to own an 8, it should be an MT. I'm sorry if I came off as harsh, but A) that's how I feel, and B) a lot of it was me still griping about the paddock talk guy.

Don't take it personal. We all make choices based on what we can afford. For you, the AT was a good fit given your resources. Thats alot different from giving a review that purports the superiority of an AT in a sports car that revs to 9 grand. As I stated above, IMHO, the MT is an excellent tranny & quite easy to learn to drive. I can't see why a "professional ( assumed) " reviewer would suggest a tranny.
If the choice was RX8 AT or no RX8, I'm guessing alot of folks here would take the auto. I sure would.

I totally agree with the points about the reviewer - I wouldn't recommend an auto for a sports car, and have no idea why he would.
I only wanted to say you don't have to be an amputee or not know stick to own an AT - different situations arise and I luckily got a chance to buy a car I wanted a year or so early (albeit not exactly the way I wanted it) and the time to decide if spending that money in a year is the right decision.
Trust me - nothing was taken personal - the "Just can't believe I get called ..." line was supposed to be sarcastic. As in "oooh - I haven't heard that before - lol"
Anybody that sensitive doesn't last the first 3 days around here.

This is a picture of my best friend Mark showing off.
