I hope a chick owns a car in this movie
I hope she kicks the profanity out of the boys, it would do my little Granny heart good!
But it won't happen - deep in the writers little heart of hearts, he will fear that his tail pipe will drop off if a chick can payfor, drive, and handle a car.
He is secretly one of those Al-Quida dudes and he believes that there is some unwritten women should not drive nor lift their heads above a mans! Heck, if the women could drive in some of those forelorn places they would put the pedal to the metal and get out of there! And the guys know it!
One of my war buddies, a nice little lady Marine, went to a filling station to refuel her Hummer. One of those police-priests came over and started beating her as was his duty in preventing women from driving. She decked him, sat on his chest with her gun in his mouth and explained that it was impolite to strike a Marine. Her worried commander had her reassigned, but the guys in her unit cheered when they heard how she had handled the situation. Hooah

Joe Rogan gave away a few of them on Fear Factor - or at least gave people the chance to win one I should say.
Speaking of "chick" drivers - I went to Formula D yesterday and one of the top 16 qualifiers was a woman with a pink 86. She was pretty sic too. In fact we voted her car the slickest drift car (or whatever they called it - still tired). I think as long as the girl in the movie shows some skill the car will come off in a good light.
After finally seeing a Formula D event in person and seeing the Mustang and 350Z from Tokyo Drift - and a Drifting EVO inspired by the one they drove in the movie, I must retract my statements about the rwd conversion of the EVO and the Skyline engine swap. The Mustang looked pretty clean and a Skyline engine is sexy no matter what. And that Evo was a sic drift car. I am now looking foward to seeing the movie. They also said that all the drivers were either Formula D racers or affiliated with FD, so the driving should be very well done.
Another note, after hearing the trailer for TD so many friggin times at the event, one of the times it played and something was screwed up with the sound so only the music/sfx track played and the diaologue track was silent. It made the movie look 10 times better. Oh, well I'll be there opening night in my 8 probably in a sea of neons and civics but what can you do. And I'll be at HIN in Indi this Saturday checking out the S15 from the movie.

I second the motion about a better spokes person - Britiany Spears, Paris Hilton, and Madonna - none of these creatures should be allowed near an RX-8! It would be bad for the machinery and get grease on the paint job!
An Rx-8 represents excellence in taste, style, engineering and preformance. While these gals may be well engineered, their life styles show a rather vulgar style, questionable taste and very unreliable preformance.
Guys: Well someone like the Original James Bond character would be pleasant- rugged, clearly male, but sophisticated, articulate, confident, without being over bearing, who can drive like professional, elegant but capable of repairing an engine....Sort of like the members of this club......

Don't know if this has been posted yet but:

And Technique, I've seen the Mustang up close and personal with the hood up. It's great - a Skyline engine is sexy in any shell. The appearence of the car is mostly stock. It kind of reminds me of a Datsun. I just want to see it in action. The Evo that had the rwd conversion drifts really nicely as well.

Not exactly vital news, but, apparently due to "Tokyo Drift," activity on the RX-8 and other cars featured in the movie are up on autotrader.com:
"ATLANTA, June 21 /PRNewswire/ -- AutoTrader.com, the smarter place to buy and sell a car, noted substantial increases in searches for the vehicle models featured in the third installment of the movie series "The Fast and The Furious" with the opening of "The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift" over the June 16 - 18 weekend. Starring models such as the Mazda RX-7, Mazda RX-8 and Nissan 350Z are now in high demand on AutoTrader.com" (emphasis added).
Here's the link to the story: http://www.automotive.com/features/9...381/index.html. Note that the article is dated June 21, so it's nearly 2 weeks old. I didn't see it mentioned on the forum when I did a search.

I took my kid to see the movie, and just as I came out of the theater, some ricer in an RX-8 with a park bench spoiler and a custom hood with chrome grills left and right was driving into the parking lot. Wonder which movie he was coming to see...

Damn... after reading this I guess I'll just have to send back the triple aluminum 52" wing, chrome flares, and custom 5" exhaust pipes. The stickers will have to stay though!
Anyways, yeah the movie was alright. I didn't watch it in theaters.... I would have kicked myself for spending money on this film (it was bad enough I wasted bandwidth).

I laughed at that one too.
They looked like owls!
