RX8 Owner is a Fuel Thief
CCTV image bid to track down fuel thief
Friday 16th October 2009, 1:26PM BST.
Police are hunting a man they believe is responsible for driving off from petrol stations in Telford with hundreds of pounds worth of fuel.
A CCTV image of the man filling up the silver coloured Mazda RX-8 at the Asda petrol station in Donnington on September 23 has been released by police.
Moments later he sped away from the forecourt without paying for about £60 of fuel.
Officers believe the same man has struck on at least four other occasions.
Each time a silver Mazda RX-8 was used with different number plates.
West Mercia Police spokesman Chris Ammonds said: “At each theft – as with the Asda incident – it appears that the vehicle has been displaying false number plates as the registration numbers have repeatedly come back to other vehicles that have had their plates stolen.
“Police are keen to speak to anyone who recognises the individual captured on the image at the Asda in Donnington, or who knows the whereabouts of the silver Mazda.”
The offences date back to August 13 last year, when a driver of a Mazda RX-8 fled a forecourt in Holyhead Road, Ketley, after filling up with £51.43 of fuel. The Shell garage in Stirchley was targeted in November, when a driver of the same sports car escaped with £30 of fuel.
As well as the Donnington incident, £58.14 of fuel was taken from a petrol station in Ketley on September 2 and £57.03 from the Stirchley site on September 16. Anyone with information should call Constable Maurice Wright on 0300 333 3000 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.

I wouldn't think it would be that hard to find the guy. Check with HM DMV.
Find all the SS RX8's in that neck of the forest. Figure out all the male owners. Check drivers license pic/description to the pic above. Apprehend criminal.

I forgot where I heard the story from, but I heard someone talking about when they had gas siphoned from their car a few times in a row (presumably from the same person). It was an old car that they didn't care too much about, so they just started putting stuff into the tank with the gas (like salt, sand, etc) and apparently they suddenly stopped having their gas siphoned. I just wish I knew what happened to the other car lol.

LOL he must have bought the car when gas wasn't so expensive and he could afford it. Now, gas is too much for him and he can't sell it cause everbody knows what kind of mileage it gets so he is forced to steal gas when he needs it.

im sure its all just a big misunderstanding. He most likely got his real plates mixed up with some stolen ones and just keeps switching them in hopes he will get the right one back on. As for "stealing" the gas, i bet his credit card just was not working and he does not realize it. Poor rx-8 driver whom is being incorrectly targeted.

Just wait till the cost of the BP spill makes it to the pumps...
What, you didn't think that they were going to pay for it, did you?
The knee-jerk changes to drilling laws, longer times to obtain permits and fewer companies willing to risk drilling in sensitive areas means higher prices in the future.

The gas prices are high here in europe, last month I up'ed my credit card just because I ran out of credit in only two weeks now driving to work and racing my RX-8.
That dosen't make it right to steal, work harder or take the bus instead.
