RX8 Pics from NAIAS
Had the opportunity to go to the auto show today.
Snapped quite a few pics.
Some people wondered about the front markers/fogs. the piece under the fogs is a chrome application....
Mazda is boosting wheel size to 19". I really like these wheels. The brake rotors seemed to be bigger, but this could be because of the wheels.

Three more pics.
Looks like MS sides will become normal fare.
The front grille leaves a lot to be desired. I noticed instead of the horizontal diamonds were replaced with the long honeycomb like the 3 and 6 have.
The side markers seem to be staying for NA. Seems like an afterthought. Definitely will need stealth bulbs (as will the front turn signals).

From the pics in the other threads I didn't notice how the rear lights were going to illuminate. I noticed there was not as much "bling" with these rears but could use the stealth bulbs

I noticed this on the door handle. Does anyone have an idea what this might be?????
The auto show people didn't have a clue and I couldn't find a bona-fide Mazda person.

You press that little button when you go to open the door. As long as the fob is on you, the door will unlock without having to use the key/hit "unlock" on the fob. It’s kind of a useless feature. I've seen a lot of Merecedes and Nissan with them. The c6 Vette also has a similar setup.

the button on the handle will be for the smart key like all the other Mazda's have. You put the card in your pocket/purse and walk up to it and press the button to unlock it, or if you have just got out, you push the button to lock it

There are actual photos from people at the show as well, you just have to look. https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-media-news-11/facelifted-rx8-revealed-135098/page37/
And note that what you see is only the R3 version. This thread should be merged.

Nice pics. I envy you for having a decent car show near by.
You should post pics of other non-rx8 cars in the general automotive section if you've got any of the other new cars at the show.
The more I see the wheels the more I like them too. Being the darker color they are, I think they would look good on my white 8.
