Updated Mazda RX-8 Headed for Frankfurt

http://www.worldcarfans.com/10907232...-for-frankfurt

I don't know what to think of this SO-CALLED Latest news...

IMO, this is already what we have had for nearly a year, but when you look at Mazda Germany's website they don't show the 09 face-lifted model at all.

http://www.mazda.de/Showroom/RX-8/?_...del=Mazda_RX-8

SO IT LOOKS LIKE GERMANY ARE GETTING THE 09 MODEL...big deal!

EDIT:::::::::::::::::::::::::

http://www.themotorreport.com.au/381...nkfurt-report/

This site is saying it is a NEW UPDATE...With a NEW look FACE!!!

Joining the list of possible appearances comes news that Mazda is preparing to show a new RX-8 in September. A new RX-8 would mark the popular sports car’s first redesign, succeeding the facelifted version which debuted earlier this year.

Hey Mazda, forget about hanging a new skirt on the old gal...what she needs is a "heart-transplant"...a 3 rotor or a turbo please... it's going to be embarrassing to be dusted by a factory turbocharged Taurus coming out next month...

that's kind of weird... why wouldn't they get the new models at the same time? It's not really even news if that's all it is. The more amusing thing is the fact that they're behind everyone else...

Because they had so many Old Series 1 models (German Spec) it took this long to sell them all...and then decide if they wanted to import the new one.

I don't know what to think now...

Could this really be the ALL new NEXT GENERATION RX-8 ( or RX-7) being talked about for the 09 October Tokyo Motorshow?

If it is it surely won't have the same 13B RENESIS, this would be a stupid move...
It may have the new 16X?

No... their just talking about the R3, apparently Germany is barely going to get it. Might be news for the them but nothing special for us seeing as how we have it in the US already.

I'm so confused.
no way a brand new 16x powered RX-8 is coming out already.
Looks to me like they're getting the R3?

Yeah, sorry I added this new info to original post so you guys may not have got the latest subscribed news...

http://www.themotorreport.com.au/381...nkfurt-report/

Which says..

Joining the list of possible appearances comes news that Mazda is preparing to show a new RX-8 in September. A new RX-8 would mark the popular sports car’s first redesign, succeeding the facelifted version which debuted earlier this year.

So yeah I am confused...and would be pissed after only owning a new model in less than a year I will see an all new one???

This is not normally Mazda, but a possibility.

IMO, Mazda would want to keep ANY new release for their own Domestic Motor Show In October, I don't think they would want it exposed in September (Frankfurt) and then home in October...

Something is a happening though!

Yeah something is happening. A new aero appearance package in 2011, new rims, and 37 additional rotary styling cues. Revised HP figure for 2012 is rumored to be 224.

Just what I thought...no new rotary for a few years according to Jeremy Barnes...

This Frankfurt model is a region specific one...I.E.. the new R3 that the rest of us already have had for a year.

Hey ASH8, I was just about to post this AUTOBLOG link. Looks like you beet me to it.

AUTOBLOG.COM is one of my favorite websites.

In other news Mazda related news, my brother and Sister-in-law bought a 2010 Mazda 3 yesterday afternoon. This was their first choice car and initially thought it was out of their price range. However, with Mazda's 2.9% long term financing it turned out to be the best car for the $$$. Definitely nicer that that Toyota Yaris that they originally thought they would have to settle for!

Oh... actually they got 3.9% long term financing. Mazda has 2.9 available on shorter term contracts.

Wake up rotor-heads and realize that the Mazda PR wizards are at it again. When sales are slumping, the PR gurus are pressed into service to come out with a new rumor that will have all the ROTORBOTS squealling in anticipation for a new 8 with a side skirt or fancy wiperblades. Please demand more of Mazda...I've had 8 rotary powered cars over the last 35 years and three or four times a year I've fallen for the "it's about to happen BS from the Mazda PR hacks". The only time I've been rewarded for my patience is when I waited for the original RX-7 to arrive for almost 18 months of having my $1000 down to buy the first one sold in Louisiana. I got it and loved everything about it. But it replaced an RX-4 which was truly fast and probably faster than my present 8s( I have two). I say all this to cushion-the-fall that some of you later-day Rotorbots will suffer when you realize sooner-or-later that there's a lot of rumors and hype that's just a vain attempt to breathe some life into Mazda sales numbers. But hey, I'm one of those optimists that believed the Saints would one day win the Superbowl...

NO, As I said in my OP, Frankfurt (Germany) have never sold the Series II 09 RX-8, so this will be new for their country.

But yeah, the rest of Internet Auto Reporters have been sucked into something that is not new, if they Bothered to check www.Mazda.DE they would see they do not list the series II RX-8 and put two and four together.

Wasn't there talk previously about some safety regulations requiring more bracing in the bumpers, which the Series II RX8 does not meet. So if there is a 2010 RX8, it would have to be different. At least slightly.
