$1300 or more worth of damage?

I don't believe it, but since the guy who backed into my car's insurance is gonna pay for it, I don't mind at all. The $1300 dollar estimate is WITHOUT a new front bumper. Thats just to fix the indents in the front bumper and the twisted fender and repaint. The lady wasn't sure if I would need a whole new front bumper cover until they got it off because it looks like there are stress bulges by the Mazda emblem in the center. Off course a camera isn't able to capture most of the damage, but take a look for yourself:

So I was thinking about either just taking the check and buying a painted Mazdaspeed front and paying for the fender repair out of pocket or just buying the Shine auto project Autobahn replica bumper since that will be the same price as the repairs to the current front bumper. Of course if they tell me I need a whole new front bumper I'm just gonna tell them to get the Shine autobahn. What do you guys think?

Yeah I like the Mazdaspeed. If I got authentic would I be able to install it myself or would a body shop have to dink around with it. How much is the Mazdaspeed front like $1200? Only problem with that is it doesn't leave any money to fix the fender.

See if you can go Mazdaspeed. If you go to a shop, you might be able to get a mazdaspeed instead of oem bumper.

I know my local shop, my family has known the owner for many years since any accident or car body work was taken to them. They should be able to help look for a new bumper.

But from the pictures it does not look so bad, I'm sure in person the bumper is bent and twisted.

yeah go MS... you wont have any issues with fitment and color matching, which is the biggest problem with VR. Good luck!

From the 2nd and last pictures you can kind of tell. It is pushed inwards around the headlight. I'm really hoping the headlight isnt damaged.

Well the other side fender sits completely flush with the headlight and front bumper cover and maybe its just from the picture angles but the fender is kind of twisted in under the bumper cover. It's pretty visible in person.

you might be able to get a fender off a parts car.

my trunk and my rear bumper are off different rx8s. paint match is flawless.

check mazmart or somebody. forum sale section maybe.

Yeah that sucks dude, I never settle for just paint in a situtation like that. Claim it'll add too much weight and that is unacceptable. Tell them you'll cover the difference of a stock bumper over the mazdaspeed bumper.
