Jeez, why doesn't everyone calm the F down with the "sound clip" requests. Some people DO have lives besides this forum...

Not that I'm basing this off of facts from HKS or anybody who had ran dyno numbers with the sucker on or off...but...there has been no intake kits that have produced any kind of substantial numbers. Going off of advice from others in the field (Canzoomer and such), I went with only the free flow filter. I'd love to get one of these though, but they're expensive and the gains just aren't there...but damn if it doesn't look cool. I would like to know though...XDEEDUBBX...have you had any CEL errors thrown? And if so, or not...what other mods are you running. Thanks --Mark

no cel's here! and makes the driving experience that much more..............it just is kick *** man! and some intakes have been proven to add some hp to some cars. as soon as this thing is in the car you will not even remember how much it cost, or rather, don't care

never ran into any CEL problems what so ever...but the thing people have to remember is, just because the cost is so high it doesn't mean it will give you like 30 hp...we ran the car on the dyno and the hp gain was about 5-7 hp...this is something everyone's "butt dyno" will not feel. There is a difference in 3rd and 4th gears though...also the quality of the product is unlike anything else...i've looked at the k&n and i know everyone is complaining about those problems...even the heat shield for that thing is useless...there's a big gapping hole right where the pipe comes out of...that is where the hot air is seeping through... The HKS Suction is a completely sealed off kit, completely separating it from the air filter and the rest of the engine bay...there's another member on this forum that has the rotary extreme intake on his car and he created his own custom heat shield (very close to the hks)..but things like that will not even come close to the hks suction kit...like i've said before...quality comes with a price, and if you want a higher quality product sometimes money is not an option there...

Awesome, thanks for the feedback. I'm sticking with my high flow for now, but when I do get an intake right now it's going to be an HKS...unless of course the guys at CP-E let me demo their intake when they make it! thanks again guys for the feedback!

i agree wit XDEEDUBBX, the quality seems to be great. I am sure a company as good as HKS knew what they were doing when they made this. I am deff. going to order this kit. as far as price goes, my buddy can get it for me for $470 shipped and overnighted rather than the $645 w/out shipping. He has a dealer account with HKS.

does installing an aftermarket intake void the warranty? what are some potential problems? I'm looking for an easy, low-cost perfomance mod and am considering this.

afeldman327...check this link out for warranty issue...

http://www.enjoythedrive.com/content/?id=8128

It doesn't void your warranty, unless whatever problem it causes is narrowed down to the part you installed. That's the general rule of thumb for any aftermarket. Granted some dealers are more lenient than others, and some are just total d!cks about it. But honestly, if you're looking for a "low-cost" performance mod I wouldn't suggest an intake. For one, it's not low cost, and two, there's not an intake out there that yields a high amount of gain. It's something everybody's been struggling with, some may give lower gains, car to car, or even throw CEL's, also car to car. I went a head and took the cheap route, also the advice from Maurice at Canzoomer, and put on a High Flow filter. I went with the one that Racing Beat sells, I like it. I do plan on getting this HKS, but only for a show novelty. I would put your money else where if I were you, just a suggestion. --Mark

I think you should calm down. All he is stating that he would like some proof. Big deal, just say you don't have any. Fine, simple. Because on other trusted vendors such as (ahemRacingBeat) they already have stated that the most you can expect is 5-7 at most.. and some even go -3 to -5. Big whoop. If you want the sound, that is basically what you are paying 500+ dollars for... don't even try and say you paid that for 5-7 HP gains.

Besides this is a message forum, he should be able to post whatever he feels like it. Next time you try and tell someone to shut up, how about you do the same yourself?

I agree with Outlaws eXtreme that the most gain you will see from an intake is 5-7 hp and that some intakes may actually lose power. Racing Beat is a very repeatable and respected company. Knowing this, I can tell you for a fact that the HKS Racing Suction made between 4-7 hp depending on the run. Six runs were made with the average gain being about 5.5 hp. I know this because my car was used for this test back in May at HKS USA. Please remember that HKS is Japan's leading aftermarket performance parts manufacture and is also a very repeatable and respected company. They will not make a product unless it's tested and makes power, they have way too much to lose.

One thing I will say is that HKS Suction is the best looking intake out there... Looks really sharp.

If I had to choose, I'd choose HKS... (Luckily money isn't too much of an issue... but if it were, I'd prolly just leave it without aftermarket intake). HKS products usually look pretty good... just look at the exhaust. But once again, would you really want to spend $900+ for appearence and some HP gain? 3-7 maybe? Once again, if money isn't an issue, this would be the exhaust I'd get... looks the best, sounds pretty nice.

I mean, if performance is the Most important factor in purchasing intake/exhaust, then I would just leave it all alone. Save the money, wait until Supercharger comes out, fork over 4-6 grand.

Did you ever put your car on the dyno?

I agree with your last statement Outlaws. Put you pennies in the bank, or buy some good philosophy books.
