I see a lot of the cars in the pictures are missing a wheel. When my 8 was T-boned, the front passenger wheel came off, too, even though the car was hit square in the passenger door(s). What's up with that?

Might as well add me to the gallery....

That pic has been up there for sometime already.. good observation, yep the rims break off at the spokes readily... not sure if it helps lessen the strain of the steering components or that Mazda likes seeing wheels flying after impact..

I can tell you from personal experience, it's no fun skidding down a road doing 360's with absolutely no control while you see a wheel flying down the road.

It is curious to note that so many cars had their wheels knocked off in the gallery. I wonder if Mazda has taken note?

Seeing these images makes me want to wash my 8, put a cover over it and read it bedtime stories about magical lands with no traffic.

Though you can look at the structural strength of the car. It is noticeable in some of the rearend shots ,as well as some of the side impacts.
Seems like the main passenger compartment stays intact in the accidents.
Seems like a well made and strong built car.
I actually feel a bit safer now, having seen these pics.

It is always sad to loose so many fine cars.

Sadness feeling such sadness....much pain and sufferings.

A great disturbance in the force I feel.

So the reds have more hits than the silver?

Wait, how many shades of red are there now?
Is that why they are all lumped in as one color.

Are titanium gray counted as silver?
