Its true , cali is kind of well known for chrome rims , big 20 inch etc. This holds true , not to sound racist , because of the mexican population/ Black community with the escalades and chrome spinners. Not to sound rude to u zumn but you might not feel the handling differences due to you not in the track , on the street a camry can feel like it handles good. You're not pushing the handling to the limits , you will not feel the difference , period. Its a fact that going over 18 inch will affect handling tremendously. Even 18's are considered border line to big and that still DOES affect handling , but like you i enjoy bigger rims as well for appearance. I am planning to go turbo and when i do the bigger wheel size will help , not to mention the wide *** rims . I dont dig chrome though :p

That last point is truly the 2009 Mazda RX-8's Achilles' heel. We could probably live with the rotary's less-than-stellar straight-line performance, given the fun derived from the RX-8's superb handling, but the fuel economy and dearth of low-end power are hard to reconcile. The BMW 128i, Nissan 350Z and Mustang GT provide better performance and/or fuel economy for a similar price. Of course, none of those cars provide the practical four-door coupe body style or that one-of-a-kind styling inside and out. In other words, if the RX-8's your type of weird, there's no other choice.

Have you asked any automotive engineer for their opinion as to whether handling has been sacrificed? There are a few on this board. Have you also noticed that no racing RX-8s run anything bigger than 18s and generally people will downsize to 17s if rules and brake clearance allows it? Finally, have you considered that marketing had something to do with Mazda choosing 19" wheels for the R3?

hahhaha, Yeah most people wanna know, and i bet when i do, its not gonna be as much as people expected. The rims are twin 5 spoke so i doubt it carries much weight to others that are really considered dubs! and look way way more solid and heavy like tank wheels!

ill admit that these bigger rims/ more weight have worn out my brakes 1/4 time faster than stock wheels...but then again i can tailgate and drive stupid sometimes and that may also be it. However the good in this is that a tire for a 20 is the same as for my stock 18 and im talking Nitto Neo Gens which i have now. as far as 20;s on my ride i havent got any complains in person, only on here, in person other import owners just tell me the same thing, "you should dump ur car then it would look sick, because right now it kinda rides high for an import".

Some new pics before the Veilside...and by the way i have no corners!..the pic taken from the rear looks good, however imagine it with the rear Veilside lip and it looks like it rides lower, so thats kinda what im going for, and thats why i need side skirts, give the lowered look without having to worrying about not making it over speed bumps or up some driveways at some malls or falling into potholes or feeling way too bouncy, or having to get out of ur car at a drive thru to get ur food because ur car is too low. Any opinions on this?

I guess i am just a person who only does things to a car that helps it and i am more consertative. but since you are doing this for show, then my opinion doenst matter. so keep up the good work
