Started in on the Nordic Green car this week. Got it out from under the cover, took it for a quick drive, and then it got rained on and the rain mixed with the pollen made a mess of the car. I decided to clean the interior and was reminded of how much I love these cars and how much I love the interior. Many good memories for me in the interior of an RX-8 and I feel like I need to get on the ball and finish this car. It's been hard due to battling end stage kidney failure, but im going to try and buckle down on the car. Took a couple pictures to share:

I'm waiting to pass committee to get on the list. I've cleared all medical tests and I'm just waiting for them to clear the transplant. Once that's done I'm on the list. From there, the goal is to find a living donor to expedite the process and for longevity. I have a few people willing to step up to see if they're a match and if not then its a waiting game.

Nice pictures! They really are gorgeous designs.
My 2004 Nordic Green is still under its cover.
Should be uncovering it next weekend.
Praying that your transplant comes through quickly.

Thank you guys for the warm wishes! I have 8 kids and I'm only 42. I have a lot left to do in life and I don't intend to give up. My doctor advised me to retire and rest, taking disability money. I smiled and thanked her for the advice. I decided to take on more hours and I work two jobs, one in which I work for a car dealerhsip where I manage the express service department in all 5 of our dealerships, and I'm a part time police officer and work 3 or so nights a week. So I refuse to lay down and quit so to speak. Some days are very difficult, I'll admit. But I feel as though if I stop, that's when I'll go down. Part of the process is restoring my cars on the side. Currently I'm saving up for a new engine for this car. I have another core I could rebuild. I'm not sure which route I'll go, but either way, this is something I want to finish.

Before I left for work yesterday I snapped a couple pictures of the car and wished I were able to drive it to work. I'm pretty motivated to find a good engine for this car!

Have you tried scouting salvage yards for wrecked 8s that might have a good engine?

I haven't but that's not a bad idea. I may end up with a reman in the end to ensure longevity.

It might be a good stop gap until you can swing a good rebuild or reman.

You might get lucky and find a fresh rebuild or reman and not have to worry about it anymore.

I remember someone hit the jackpot and found one with a Mazdaspeed bumper once.

Every now and again, I like to take the car up the road and back to the house just to keep everything working on the car. The engine is noticeably down on power and is starting to smoke, so it's long past time for a replacement. I'm on the hunt for one. But I snapped a couple of pictures last night and wanred to share them this morning:

Still one of my favorite colors.
I don't remember if you did, but did you contact Kyle about a rebuild?
The Rotary Doctor in Neosho, MO.
He stays busy, but he may have one that he built for sale.
He'll usually answer the phone, that's your best way to contact him.

Good luck with your search!

Great pictures! Much better condition than my rusty Nordic Green one.
I had a bit if a scare with my engine at the end of driving in Michigan last year.
Lost all power and ran rough. I let it sit over the winter and just started working on it again recently.
I put in new plugs and pulled the ones in there to clean them and got the same result.
Today, I put in new ignition wires and coils for the leading plugs and I think she's back to running well again.
I just noticed you have a 80 LS in Solar Gold. I bought a 80 LS in white about a year and a half ago.
My brother lives in Vermillion so I might have to look you up the next time I'm there to visit.

Glad to hear you were able to get your rough running resolved. These cars are very sensitive when it comes to ignition components. My Brilliant Black 04 6spd is still in storage and I'm hoping all will be well with it when I get it out this year.

I do have a 1980 Leather Sport. It sits next to this Nordic Green RX-8 in my garage. It was gifted to me from the original owner. I had been servicing the car for him for about 10 years preciously. Its THE car that got me into RX-7's in the 80's when I was a kid. I would see the car parked at Drug Mart in town and when we would go there for groceries and prescriptions, I would walk up to the car and look at it in amazement. I never even dreamed as a child that I would own that car as an adult. Aurora White is a beautiful color on the LS. It's definitely a rare car and I would love to see it some time!

Feel free to stay in touch and swing out the next time you're in town visiting your brother!

That Solar Gold is gorgeous. Pairs so well with the gold anodized wheels.
My Aurora White one still has the original wheels too.
The LS build is kinda rare so it's great to see more beautiful survivors like yours!

Thank you! I do like the Solar Gold wheels as well. I would love to see pictures of your LS if you were able to post them!
