I noticed that nobody had gone as far as modifying the RX-8 interior as of yet; all the cars in these pictures had stock interiors, with maybe the addition of painted panels here n there.
One last pic: no RX-8 here, but just had to throw in some J-spec girls...
Sorry about the grainy/off-colour photographs. This is why you shouldn't use a digital video camera to do the work of a digital still camera...

According to the NHRA website news, the dragster is running on a 3-rotor Wankel with a huge Garrett turbo. Engine management by MoTeC, and data acquisition by RacePak. Power at the crank was something in the 1400's vicinity. He debuted and ran in Fontana recently, but was having some electrical difficulties, and completed something of an 18 second pass at 50mph. So it'll be at least a little while before the car makes a real pass.
