RX-8 in which about five years have passed since the sale start in 2003 carries out a minor change. As for the big minor which updates the inner exterior sharply, this time is the first although it has received improvement also in the past that AT model will form 6speed in summer of 2006 etc. several times. Although details, such as a price and a sale date, are undecided, the reference exhibition model announced in the Tokyo auto salon which begins from 1/11 (Fri.) will photograph, and we will send a taking-down shot to you a little earlier from show.

- Exterior : the form of an order bumper is changed and a head lamp unit and a rear pair lamp are also in a new design. The slit of the front fender side is also changed into the form of side marker one. A wheel and a body color are also new.

- Interior design : renew a center console, sheet form, a steering, etc. For pure Nabih, it is changed into a center panel built-in type from an on-dash type pop-up method, and the unit itself is new adoption about HDD Nabih corresponding to G-BOOK ALPHA.

Addition of "Type RS" (all photographs are Types RS) of a new grade is also news. The exclusive bucket seat jointly developed with RECARO is equipped, and an aero part also equips with a front air dam and a side skirt for exclusive use, or the large-sized rear wing. Front Suspention Cross member filled up with the Billstein damper and foaming urethane is adopted as axle part following the 40th anniversary model of a rotary.

In this minor change, there is no change of an engine and it is unknown about a suspension except being considered as Type-RS Bill Stein's adoption.

This car needs a **insert appearance option of your choice** muffler.
It looks like the rear may be a little higher off the ground (not suspension, just smaller rear plastic) and you can see the exhaust more clearly.

Want everyone to see this before they start ordering taillights that won't work with our current rear bumper. From the other thread:

I know a lot of people like the new LED taillights, including myself, and hoped that a direct swap was an option. Upon closer inspection, the new taillights are NOT the same shape as the current ones, they are a little taller. Below are comparison pics. The red line shows how the bumper and how the new one has a notch cut for the longer taillight. The yellow line shows the distance from the key hole to the bottom of the taillight, which is longer on the new ones. If you like the new taillights, you'll have to do a whole rear end swap. Sorry!

I wonder what's keeping mazda from bumping up power to competitive levels? I just can't see why they spend so much time and money on that white SC 8 and that black turbo 8 at Mazda Australia if I remember correctly and then say "we're just experimenting". Yeah, they are testing a new engine but that engine won't be out for a while.

Hey Mazda, there's already a lot of body kits available for the 8. Use the R&D on power output! It's like Porshe and the Cayman S situation in reverse (the 8 could barely beat a MS3 or MS6 if at all and THAT'S SAD). Everyone knows it would destroy a 911 if given more power.

I don't think that they would put Ricardo seats in production models. That might be just for display model. Ricardo seats are like designer seats. It would be awesome though, if they did! :D I really like the seats and engine bay.

The Recaro's don't have side air bags. They ditched the oil pressure "gauge" as well. They also have a hatch on the engine cover to access the dipstick.

I am not liking those little reflectors above the exhaust tips.

I Like:
New front Bumper
3 point front strut tower
wheels are nice, accent the rotary

Dont Like:
Rear bumper, i like the way the exhaust tips come out the bumper instead of below it
nor do i like the reflectors on it, reminds me of the 6
side vents with the side marker lamp just isnt doing it for me

overall, nice car. I would change that rear bumper and fenders

imho i only like the new rear bumper and foglights but besides that for me it seems pretty disappointing, especially if there will be no increase in performance.
