It's actually not black either, it is a dark grey/brown-ish color... Its the same as this one from the "Pics from dealerships in Japan thread"

In all honesty, it makes our cars look dated when they are side-by-side...
This dealership has a SS RX8 with most Mazdaspeed Accesories on it aswell... (Full body-kit with spoiler, Dual Canister Exhaust, Gunmetal Mazdaspeed Rims, Mazdaspeed CF trim on the pillar...)
Didn't really notice if it has the Mazdaspeed CAI on it and haven't seen under the hood or in the trunk for any strut bars, etc... I also don't recall if it's been lowered...
I guess my point is that it makes that car look old in terms of style aswell...

Is the end of May set in stone for 09s arriving on dealer lots? I talked to the internet sales manager I know at my local Mazda dealership and he said they show no new RX-8s coming in anytime soon. He knew about the upcoming changes but had heard nothing about when they'd be arriving.
Interesting.....
No hint of '09 anything on MNA's website. I'd be suprised to see these before July. If memory serves me right, didn't the '04s start showing up around Memorial Day with Brad Barber taking first delivery? I think the first ones showed up here in Phoenix in late June of '03.

Hmm, that looks like Sparkling Black Mica, the new black for the 09 models. ONly thing though, if I remember correctly from seeing the spec sheet that zoom posted a while back, I thought only Aurora Blue and Brillant Black were available in R3 form....
Either way, the car looks stunning, lean, well-defined, with nice sharp edges. I like it.

Apparently i'm the only person on the planet who likes the new steering wheel (but would prefer if they threw some red leather on the sides like on my current one...)
Ever since I first seen that steering wheel I liked it and wondered what it would be like in the RX8... (To the point where I was contemplating the idea of swapping steering wheels with a MX5 or CX7 or something...) But it's got an overwhelmingly BAD review from everyone here lol... I always found it looked more race-inspired than the current RX8 steering wheel.
I find the current wheel in my RX8 very damn comfortable in my hands though, so I can't see me swapping lol...
On the other hand... I want those damn side-skirts... So the first set I see at the right price i'm jumping on lol

Im going to have to agree on the new seats being a step backward, the rotary theme on the headrest was almost a signature of the 8, and the bumper is edging toward "body-kit-on-mom's-accord".
On the other hand... if keys were to somehow end up in my hands, I wouldnt scrap it :p

I am just not a fan of the convoluted front headlight design and all the plastic:

Interesting.......are those brake lights just above the exhaust?
