2009 RX-8 *Part 2* Pictures inside and around
so unfortunately all i had on me was the cellphone while at the dealership
so lets sit inside
lets switch it on
fancy pedals
k i'll turn on the stereo
so wonder why i didn't insert a key?
its now some sort of credit card to open the door you push on a rubber nub when the key is nearby and it unlocks
the seat itself is really awesom its hugging design is perfect for the average japanese male if you a re over a certain body size i highly suggest a different car or the older model rx-8
the seat has lost its upward motion and can only be tilted and slid forward or back
popping the hood you'll find this
removing the engine cover reveals some slight changes notice the new bar
also on the suspension side you may also find the upgraded biltstein suspension package

Cool pics, im liking the new strut bar. Any comment on what the 5k-10k redline is for on bottom and the top has a 8.5k-10k redline instead of 9k-10k ?

That's what I was thinking too as I have seen this setup on the e46 M3 tach as well.

Good work man! Even for a cell phone cam it still gets the information across. I agree w/ bluefrenzy... new steering wheel sucks *****! Seats are sick and the engine bay seems to make a lot more sense.

the oil dipstick is a nice touch, as are the key and the upgraded suspension.
BUT, the interior redesign elements that i completely DON'T understand:
(a) the ugliest oversized steering wheel.
(b) moving the "fuel + odometer gauge" from the right to the left for no apparent reason.
(c) moving the "temperature gauge" from the left to the right for no apparent reason.
since when does changing the location of a gauge for no apparent reason constitute a good redesign?

Even if it (probably) does, it's still not much use because the dipstick (and it's location) is also different. So you can't reach the old dipstick like the one in the photo above.
I really don't like the fact that they got rid of the height adjustment feature of the seat. Also, changing the tilt mechanism to be adjusted by the **** instead of a lever is a bad idea. The lever is much easier and faster to operate.
Steering wheel is hideous of course.
