370Z or RX-8...
So the other night I had a nice good date with my girlfriend at a fancy restaurant and then decided to head back to her place
Unfortunately soon later she asked me to get her some canned food for her cat before I came over
On the way out of the restaurant I notice this Silver 370Z... I smiled as it wasnt stock. It has Axis rims with some type of Carbon Fiber front spliter and rear spoiler... I took some pictures but then soon realized I needed to compare my car with it as well.
After taking some pictures I notice that the 370Z is HUGE!!! I cant believe how big it is compared to the 8... and it can only hold 2 people. Hell my 8 can hold 4 and is smaller...
The pics down close to the ground is to compare which car was lower...
In my opinion my 8 looks a world better than the 370Z... I want y'alls opinions on these pictures, sorry for the quality, these are from my Palm Pre... lol

i think 370z's are sexy cars..just like any other sports car if you have a good taste for putting aftermarket together it can be a really good looking car, its also one heck of a performer

I agree with these comments... The 370Z didnt look too great, I mean the CF and the rims didnt really match nor did the weird colored seats. They look like the brownish color leather some 8's came with... I disliked the 19-20 inch Axis weels as well...

If I were to buy a car right now, it'd be a 370z. The main reason to want an 8 over one is either the backseats or the uniqueness of the engine. If you can live with no back seats, it is very, very hard to compete with the Z.

Unless you cant live without the Rotary and dont really care about HP or torque ... Like me

I like the 370s but just seeing your 8 and that specific 370 side by side...I'm not gonna lie i'd take your 8...I dont like those axis wheels and the carbon fiber lip and spoiler hes got going on...it doesnt flow in my eyes

Don't compare the 370z to the RX-8 because it's in a higher class of cars.
In my opinion, here are the only advantages the 370z has over the RX-8:
- Looks more expensive (because it is) than the RX-8
- Quite a bit more powerful engine than the RX-8 (it should be, it's a lot more expensive)
- Should be easier to maintain and a little more reliable
- Gets a little better mileage
- Offers a cool SyncShift feature on the higher-end Z trims
However, I think the RX-8 still wins in the following areas
- Beautifully smooth and very high redline - gotta love it...
- Handling & fun to drive - the 370z is much better than the 350z, but the RX-8 may still win by a small margin in this area
- Interior luxury - even though the 370z is a big improvement over the 350z, I think the interior design & materials on the RX-8 are outstanding
- PRICE - you get more car with the 370z, but remember it is no longer a direct RX-8 competitor that the 350z once was (in other words, it's in a higher class of cars altogether). More bang for the buck though? I guess that depends on you.
- INSURANCE - the 370 will cost considerably more to insure. Something not to overlook
- Lighter and better weight balanced - probably a better snow car than a 370z because of this I would presume, with the proper tires of course...
- Seats 4 - definitely comes in handy at times
- Moonroof is available
- The RX-8 has one of the most unique body builds in the world. It's one of the very few cars that can't be related to another. 370Zs can be related to Porsches (which isn't necessarily a BAD thing), but it's not as unique as the RX-8
If money isn't an object, the 370z is a better overall car. It SHOULD be better though because it's a lot more expensive - you get what you pay for. I however am addicted to the rotary's rev, superb handling, styling, and price.
IMO, you can't beat the RX-8 in terms of bang for buck.

That's the first time I've seen the 2 parked next to each other. I think it's a bit of an illusion that the Z is way bigger then the 8. I'm actually blown away by these pics. Now I want to see the dimensions of both cars cause the Z does look huge in those pics. I've looked at 370s already and it looks pretty small by itself. I test drove one late last year and when I was driving it, it seemed way smaller than the 8. The Z is definitely a bit beefier because of its width but I think the weird roof line of the Z contributes to it looking so much bigger.

man that z is ugly i personally dont like how the z looks in general its too turtle like still but that one is appalling altogether it should be in the what not to do to your car thread ... just my .02 not hating or anything

Idk, this "Illusion" you speak of might be caused by how low I am... Im sitting a good 2 inches lower than stock if not more... Im sitting on Tein S.Techs and Koni Yellows....

^ honestly bro i dont think it would slaughter the 8 especially a well setup 8 ... it may win on a track but not by much ... and yes i have driven one spiritedly and its an amazing car but i think from my experience the 8 is easier to drive fast than the z and the brakes in the z are horrible for the car ...

I have been in a 370Z and I hated the way it felt. The comparison that felt correct in terms of handling was like comparing my 8 and my fathers Lexus, that was the difference, maybe not as smooth but it was deffinately close. And yes the 370Z would slaughter ANY NA 8 on any track... But hell Id love to see a 370Z versus a Pettit SC RX-8. Both would be putting down roughly the same hp at the wheels...
