Bad Sunday morning

Bad Sunday morning
So there I was lazing away watching some TV this morning when all of a sudden I hear that familiar crunch of hawt bumper on bumper action from outside the house. The second the alarm went off I knew it was my 8 . My sister's friend was backing up her Lexus RX330 from the driveway which is at a steep downward angle, put it into NEUTRAL instead of drive then blammo. Front bumper is gone along with the hood and the front sub frame, also leaking coolant. I'll be going through insurance so hopefully I'll see about getting an aftermarket front bumper and maybe a CF hood.

Sorry about the car.
Your best bet is to find an aftermarket bumper that is comparable in price to the replacement Mazda original bumper. Ask the body shop to price one after you make a choice on which one you want. If it's the same price as factory, or less your in. Or you could cover any additional cost out of pocket.
Now body work for fitment is going to be additional. Paint and paint prep is included as they would have to do that to a new Mazda bumper anyway. So get a good brand, not a knock off.
Good luck.

wow, that definitely sucks. could have been worse. if you do not have a body shop you have been to before, i would definitely check around. ask your friends, family, etc to see what sort of experience they have had. i would not go with whatever default place the insurance company wants to send it. if you have time, check out the shop before having work done. if they have before/after pictures of previous work, that is always a plus too.
