nonsence...right of way is just that...if some one is in the lane already you must yeild....other wise it is your fault and should / could get cited for aggressive driving

I know of several intersections that i worry about this exact thing happening to me.

Did the cop tell you then & there that it was obviously the other driver's fault? That always helps - even though it sounds like an obvious case.

Note to all - speed the f8@k up and make sure idiots like this one hit the back half of your car.

Not letting someone into your lane is a little different anyway. That (generally, of course - I don't pretend to have extensive knowledge of traffic laws) doesn't necessarily apply to someone who is disobeying traffic patterns by going straight in a lane designated for turning only.

I think that yield portion of law is for designated merge areas (like when 2 lanes - both going the same way - merge into one lane) or for when a lane is blocked (by construction, parked vehicles, accidents and such.)

People are idiots. When I went out to lunch today, I pulled up to a light looking to make a left turn onto route 10. There are 2 left turn lanes and I'm in the right one. There are a couple cars ahead of me in both lanes. Rt 10 is 4 lanes across the way I'll be going but the rightmost lane exits almost immediately after the intersection. So, I pull out into 10 at a slow roll. I make really squared off turns when I have to turn on the outside of someone or I cut them very tight when on the inside. This guy next to me in a van starts making a wide turn. He's 18 inches off my door and coming out. He winds up barely in the third lane and I'm partially on the shoulder so he doesn't run my *** over. WTF? I regularly get pushed out a lane on that turn with people who turn from the left lane to the second lane putting me in the third lane but this guy 9 times out of 10 would have hit whatever soccer mom was in the lane next to him.

You have chrome wheels or is that just polished? The scratches seem pretty heavily scuffed rather than tearing/gouging. That's good. Really, the other guy should pick up the whole tab. He hit the rear portion of your car (in a rear end accident, the rear driver is pretty much always at fault usually for failure to maintain a safe following distance or pay attention to changing traffic flow but this isn't a true rear ending), changing lanes in an intersection, failure to maintain a posted traffic sign (left turn lane).
