does cars would have look wors racing an fd than the rx-8 did with them , normally and fd would lap tsukuba in 1:03.xxx range, even if they where bigger and heavier they had better power to weight ratio so......

you know what I find intresting is that the rx-8 was only 1 second slower than an m3

that mazdaspeed car with 40 hp more would be pure sex!

i agree. gansan is the most aggressive and probably fastest of the bm drivers.

No way in hell the a stock FD would lap Tsukuba in 1:03, it's more like 1:06-1:09 depending on model and year.

I think the fastest I've seen was 1:05.9XX once they upped it to 280ps.

I just can't see a stock FD dropping below high 1:05s, here's the fastest I've seen.

1:04 around Tsukuba is supercar territory and the RX-7 had a tough enough time beating its Japanese competitors.

we where all wrong, the knights sport was the one that did it in 1:03.xxx, but the RX-7 type RS did it in 1:04.888

acording to these # the ms8 its capable of turning almost the same lap time as the m3 cls

https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...kuba+lap+times

it is amazing how much info its in this forum!

mazdaspeed RX-8 1:08,70
BMW m3 1:08,28

very similar only 1/2 a second, but there may be a better time for the m3 that i just dont remenber about

actually I like the way they use to display lap times, each lap time was display at the end of the race that way you can juge what happen, and how good was the driver

I'm not sure if there is a better time for the M3 or not but half a second on a small track like that isn't almost the same in my eyes. Also keep in mind the RX-8 is on near R compound tires and the M3 is on lower performance stock tires.

your right , but thats how the ms8 used to come from the factory, but if we get into that the rx-8 also has racing suspencion and other things, but the m3 has a much better power to weight ratio

If mazda had any ***** the rx-8 would be on par with cars that cost much more, sometimes I get so **** of at them , but then I go to my drive way, and love them for what they have made for me to enjoy

Dont forget torque. I'd rather have 40 more lb-ft of tq than hp.

I would rather see the RX8 with 200+ft/lbs of torque than 270ish hp.

My son will be driving in three years and will get my 8 and then I will be driving a fast two seated rear wheel drive car. I want an S2000 or Elise so bad.

Nice vids, nothing surprising about them, so why the negative comments.

Vid one against M5/M3/350Z/S2000, yes the 8 lost but the S2000 was fully modded with 270hp, while the 8 had stock power. Still stayed within a sec. of the M3 and 350. Don't forget when Top Gear matched 8 times vs. a 350Z, the Z it was the original lower power non-"track" model. And did anyone really expect the 8 to beat a 500hp M5?

Vid two against a WRX/Civic R/IntegraR/etc. showed the other cars with specs not even available here. A 220hp 2600 pound civic? A 250hp WRX? Still, the 8 still had faster times than all but the R's.
