Black Emblems
#2
I've breifly considered doing this to enhance my Black/White scheme..
How about some details, what did you use, did you take them off, etc.
Cost, time to accomplish, issues you may have run into, worries..

first, i needed to pry them off, i used a thin flat screwdriver around the edges. The MAZDA and flying M also have **** that hold them in. The rx-8 is just stuck on. take your time and be gentle or they'll crack.
Second I used adhesive remover i got from home depot to remove the sticky crap from the trunk....that took alot of elbow grease, a rag, and about 1/2 hour.
third i used 300 grit sand paper to scuff up the emblems so the paint would stick better.
fourth, i used some rustoleum industrial spray paint to paint them, 3 or 4 coats, rotating them to get all the edges. LET THEM DRY FOR A WHILE BEFORE TRYING TO APPLY THEM. i was anxious to get it done and fingerprinted one. TAKE YOUR TIME.
i got some 3M emblem tape from advance auto and cut out this 1/16" strips and used them to reattached the emblems to the car. again be gentle.
if i could do this again, i;d take my time. and i'd use a lower grit paper like 100 grit. im worried the paint is going to scratch to easy....we'll see how this lasts though....all in all for about 10 bucks and an 1.5 hours, i thought it was well worth it, the contrast is great with the yellow and the tint.

Living is best Modified.
stealthy look, yet still wearing mazda representing.
Nice, i'd say it's a must-have for any yellow 8s, generally any color that has the silver bouting every second.

That looks hot... very clean...
i wouldn't mind having simple aluminum ones on my VR than the chrome seeing I have no other chrome on the car...

I also just bought new ones, and sprayed them. i used a metallic black, so that they had some shine to them.
wish I had better pictures, those were taken with my POS phone.

I like the black on black, but I'm wondering what it would look like if the badges were painted the same color red as the wheel? Don't know if that would be too much, but it would be a nice accent.
