Nothing wrong with the MAZSPORT system.

That incident is when we learned that the dwell needs to be adjusted on FI cars when using the Mazsport. It works great on NA.

Get the facts straight. It works fine on FI if you adjust the dwell.

Now for the BHR:
One of the two coils that was bad was firing. It would fire correctly then become weak then fire correctly then become weak.
The other coil was dead and never fired.
I still don't believe the dyno chart. But I was standing right there and saw it happen. 3 coils 197 hp.

You can not believe everything you see on a dyno chart.

I've seen over 1000 lbs of torque on an RX8 more than once. We all know that is not true. Intermintant connections, misfires, several things can give you erronous data.

So give the sceptecism a rest.

Theres a lot of

In this thread.

I'm loving my BHR coils. They work great! I've got over a thousand miles on them now. No misfires, no bad coils, no dwell settings to muck about with, Plug, play, Zoom Zoom. I think I picked up a bit of power too, but I can't show you the chart from my very sophisticated butt dyno, because you really, really, don't want a screenshot, and when I try to print, it comes out brown and smudged.

I like the idea of having a burst disk in the manifold to prevent stuff like this, but could a burst disk really handle the kind of rates of flow involved in an explosion like this?

Now if everybody is done slinging BS around here can we get back on track.

Well the car is up and running fine.
As for a "Burst Disk" this is something we are looking into. I have the same concerns as to it being able to evacuate an explosion of this magnatude also.
I can forsee a few more manifolds giving there lives for further research. It's a shame, but someone has to do it.

What about a stronger manifold bolted into place with bolts designed to fail first? Then the manifold would pop loose, and allow the explosion to vent out the ends, and you'd just have to bolt it back down again?

Just throwing ideas out. I know that dragsters with blowers do a similar thing with straps to prevent the blower from flying off into the crowd when they detonate.

You could just sell UIM's as a wear item too.

Wasn't the BHR team. I was the only one who had the car all this time. The nice thing was that Phil got his car back, none of his old parts ended up on E-Bay, and we are going to be at Phil's early next week to work on the tune. You LV guys can feel free to spectate and ask any questions you like while we are there.

I have been very busy with work issues and have neglected the forums. Now that I have a minute I see all that has been going on in my absence.

First, my car is back in Vegas and has been for a couple of weeks. I tried calling for a meet and only one responded to tell me we could not meet there, so I will try again later.

Some Vegas members purchased items from another vendor and resent being told that their products are defective in some way when they seem to be operating OK. For some reason this developed into a he said - they said type of argument. In my car I have mods from everyone out there I think. Some mods work better than others and it does not make the ones that do not work on my car bad just that they did not work on my car. Everyone should look at it with an open mind and not be so one-sided or quick to jump up.

To some of the posters who jumped in and have indicated that all Vegas peeps are against someone you gentlemen may kiss my ***. I do fit into the Vegas group and resent being told what I think. I am capable of posting my own likes and dislikes.

I count among my friends peeps from Vegas, SoCal and AZ and feel that my friends know where I stand. I usually hold a tri-state meet every year and plan on doing the same this year. Personalties should not play into a meet just the fact that we all own and love our car. If you elect not to come because of some personality conflict it's your loss.

Now Jeff and Ray are still my friends and they will be in Vegas on the week end of the 10th (tuning my car) and I would suggest anyone that feels they have a problem with either of them come on by my house and tell them what the problem is. By now everyone from SoCal to Phoenix knows where I live.

We were discusssing this concept last night but I would prefer to solve the original issue. Manifold burst panel is a "Band-Aid".

Phil: you know I hold you in much higher regard then that.
Looking forward to seeing you this summer (or hopefully sooner) at the next Tri-State Meet.

Poppa Bear speaks up and give all the kids, including the BHR team, a well-deserved spanking! Thanks, Pops. See ya next week.
I need to go assemble and ship 75 BHR Ignition Systems, now.

Zack is not related to Easy is he? The forum could soon run out of spare manifolds.

Zachary is one of the cutest little kids I have seen in a long time. He really has his daddy's number and you shoulda seen Dave chasing him all over the house while Zach was issuing orders. It was hilarious. Really good boy you have, Dave.

I really didn't want my kid destroying your house. It wouldn't have been polite as a guest.
I was trying to get him to sneak some coils, but the doritos tasted better plus they are sorta rotor shaped.

He is constantly "spooled up" and we have to fight for my drives seat.
I'm lucky to have a great little guy.

The worst thing to happen was a little bit of drink spillage form a couple guys but that was it. My AZ peeps are far better guests than the guys I grew up with.

suggestion from down under - how about only turning the nitrous on past say 5000 rpm . You would normally not be under that unless you were starting from a roll ....

That is the way Easy usually does it - hit the switch at 4000.
We are going to experiment with a window switch at some point along with some other controller ideas for progressive spray.

When I ran Easy's car on the dyno last week, I hit the switch at 4000 and it was copacetic.
