Real cowboys , never rode their horses with side saddles , nor should people drive a 9000rpm rotary with a crappy 4 speed Automatic .

I have no interest in degrading The owners of the car, only the cars themselves that have the crappy Automatics .

Mazda will be realeasing a five speed Automatic shortly , this is the Auto they should have used in the first place , when this New Automatic is released the re-sale value of the old 4 speed Automatic will fall sharply

True, my standards.. but some other people agree with me. The only people that have said in this thread that it's great, and the best are L&L and Ezzy (yourself).

I'm pretty calm, and never said it's the end of the world. Yet he kept insisting he's better somehow because he owns a Manual RX-8? Why does he keep mentioning that he's special in some way because he owns a manual? Then he has to attack me by saying I should learn how to drive one? I could have been more personal about it... but I didn't. So we'll leave it at that.

Even for US standards, those are over the top. Maybe in other countries it's fine, and that's the local style.

I understand that you would protect your friend's decision over his choice in rims.. that's fine and dandy. To each his own. But I'm merely stating my opinion of the rims. Did I mention that other rims are better.. or the fact that he should have gotten so and so? Of course not. I'm not saying he made a bad decision, or that it's wrong. Just saying it's a bit "bling bling".. flashy. On the otherhand, you have L&L attack all the RX-8 owners that drive an Automatic.

Yet another attempt to make the Automatic RX-8 owners feel bad for their purchase? You do understand that a 'crappy AT' Rx-7 could easily surpass any Rx-8 Manual right? My first car, an AT Civic could easily go faster than the Manual RX-8. Does that mean anything to anyone? It shouldn't... it's still a crappy Civic.

You can keep assuming that since you drive a Manual Rx-8, that you're the fast car on the road, or that you're special in some way... but you don't need to make comments just to undermine the AT owners.

Please tell us that release date for that 5 Speed AT since you know so much about Mazda Rx-8 and how much better Manual is.

The drive of an Automatic is not about speed , but driver involvement , and most cars with Autos i find are hard to be involved with .IMOH

The 5 speed Automatic will be realeased to the Australian market by 3rd quarter of 2005 or 1st quarter of 2006 according to my source .So you guys should get it a few months earlier in the U.S.A

Having this information you would think that some 4 speed Automatic owners would be gratefull , that it gives them time to possibly sellout of their cars before they take a dive on their car VALUE .

W ho is going to pay top $$$$$ for a second hand 4 speed Auto when a better major upgraded 5 speed Auto is released .

Last time I checked, Having a Manual or Auto transmission isn't an Accessory.

Actually the chromed factory wheels on the yellow car looks really good. i have pics of mine around here somewhere. I think the tire size with the the car is the problem, not the chrome.

in most brochures for high end sports cars/luxury sports cars...... auto trans is an option.... therefore i'd say it is an accessory. case closed :D
and i'd like to say it again, i'd take that 20" chrome wheels on that yellow 8 than most of the wheels ppl have on there 8 from here

I can't explain it well, but here goes... The car is clean with large clean wheels and that's all - no stickers, appendages, or multi colored rims. It looks like art to me. ...Maybe cartoonish, but low and cool - a well executed expression of the owner IMHO. The girl is cute too. ...AND I like automatics - they are my friend ...But I drive a 6sp 8 for now

I think the rims are fine. Sort of remind me of a toy wagon. Cars are toys, so why not?
