Man that is such a bullshit way to go. Personally, I'd use this to collect the repair money, fix what is needed then mod the rest. James knows what he's doin though.

Hmmm, that doesn't look too bad! Then again, I can't really tell. Hope you stay OK, and the car comes back to life!

Wow, that sucks! At least you're (sounds like for the most part) okay though. Cars can be replaced. Those are summer tires though, aren't they?

I honestly dont know what happend, in all my years of racing (drift and autoX) ive never had my cars back end come out as violently or as fast as this... Even as i was countersteering and tying to bring the back end around the car just wouldnt respond.

They were suppsed to be "all season" but deff are geared toward warmer climate....

And i am an I-Car certifed body tech... and what you cant see is all the subframe damage... Im figuing about 10-12k in damage... and if the car is valued at 15k that means the repair bill would have to equal 13k for it to be totalled... so its close

The way the story was told to me, in all honesty, My guess is that he hit the ice and caused his back end to slip out. Due to traction control, the car gripped back on, but was already too late because the car was facing the guard rail..At least that's my guesstimate. James will be fine and he'll make a good choice as to what to do either with the car or whatever. :P

Cant see how you're blaming the car. Wrong tires for the wrong season.

No one is blaming the car... all i said was the back end came out and i couldnt save it.. hell it came out so fast even traction control couldnt save it... its just one of those things that happens sometimes, thats life. We'll have to see what the police report says about road conditions, but everywhere else was dry, so i dont think tires were the issue.

And i dont think Zelse was blaming the car either, he pretty much said it couldnt be saved once it went around... at least thats how i took it

Thumbs down

oh no!

I hope you heal quickly and painlessly! It is such a shame to lose a car so quickly, your health is far more important though.

If you end up parting the car, or totaling it, let me know where it ends up - I could use some parts~

+1 for not using summer tires in the winter - look for the snowflake on the mountain next time.

are you still coming to any meets?

But sucks to see the fall of another 8.

Glad you're still alive! But sorry about the 8...

It might've been the amber corners' fault!

Glad you're okay. It's a shame about the 8, but these things happen. Hope you get it fixed or get a new one soon.

^Huh? How does it differ from other RWD vehicles. Obviously there are many circumstances that are not known here, therfore one can not judge solely on a single aspect.

Proof that the 8 is fun in snow. https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-multimedia-photo-gallery-6/rx8-fun-snow-133141/
