brilliant black Q

How hard is the brilliant black paintwork to live with? I'm getting another Rx8 soon and I seriously want a black but am cringing at how dirty it's going to get.

So for all back owners out there...is it worth the extra pain of cleaning more often...or do you wish you'd gotten another color?

As hard as any other black paint. It will get dirty, quick. However it was also look damn good when clean. I wouldn't get it if I were you. Too much of a hassle to keep clean. That and scratches are easily noticable.

i've had my black 8 for about a month. it does get dirty, but i can live with it. alot of times i just spray it down, then wipe it clean, not a full wash, and it looks brand new. but yeah, its worth it.

I have a black as well, but I really do regret not getting blue or white. You'll understand why I would want those colors if you saw imdanomite's car in person.

Black is a beautiful color to have if you are willing to maintain it. i wash my car at least once a week, and always keep it looking clean. as for scratches, none visible on mine and i have had it for 2 yrs. now

I agree black is nice, but harder to keep clean. I went and got one of those mop looking things to whipe off dust and stuff which helps not having to wash it all the time but still look clean.

I went for VR, but most of the time I wish I'd gotten black. I may not have to wash mine as often, but the effort is almost not worth the difference when I do. When a clean black one catches your eye, you can't help but stare and wipe your chin from the drool, it's gorgeous. Black all the way, completely worth the time. Let me know what you decide .

I forgot to mention that black is much easier to add mods to/accessorize. I don't think anything you add will ever keep it from looking sleek.

Black is, by FAR, the best color for ANY car from an appearance perspective.

That said, I clean mine every day and the front end gets destroyed by rocks, dust/debris so badly that I've repainted mine twice already and I'm only a 60k miles.

Really, black can be the ugliest color as well if you neglect it or don't have the skill and patience to keep it up.
