Picked mine up 20Feb05. Love the car!! Three things need attention: 1) trunk lid needs slight adjustment to align with left rear quater panel - dealer on it quickly and reduced gap by 1/2, still slightly off , they will keep on it, 2) rattle in the cabin - sounds like it is in the moon roof - I crank up Sirus Blues and I can't hear it much, 3) Driver side Black trim panel with Shinka logo has a dimple, dealer checking with Mazda for replacement part with logo. Dealer is very reponsive, I hope they can deliver results.
Looking for feedback about mazdaspeed exhaust - what's the sound like and any HP gain? What results are realized with the light weight fly wheel? Also, any suggestions about factory approved air intake mods. Thanks

I believe I got the first Shinka in San Diego (Cush Mazda)- at lease from a SD Dealer. Got it Feb. 2nd and I was checking all the dealers (ordered it Jan 2). With all this rain though it has been hard to get it out on the road.
Only issue I have had is that they did not install the hook for the driver side floor mat - I found it in the glove compartment. Went back to the dealer and they installed it in 5 minutes. Almost impossible to do yourself with the motorized sear. As a matter of fact, they did it so quick, I could not finish the coffee I had just bought, so they ran the car around back and washed it while I finished my coffee.
I also went back for the door edge quards (a must have with wide swinging doors - I already have a nick in them that they saved from being on the door) and the sill plates. I also purchased the collapsable cargo holder which I highly recommend (great for groceries so they do not spill into the trunk out of those flimsy platic bags) and the luggage tray (which the folds up and stores into quite nicely).
I also am looking to upgrade the speakers and right now it is a race to see what is available first for the 2005 RX-8 - a IPOD interface of the PHATBOX.
In regards to all the heated discussions on the exterior and interior color. I love the Black Cherry and have gotten many compliments from strangers. As far as the parchment interiior, I love the light color. This was actually a selling point for me. Living in San Diego the car interior can get hot and black seats did not appeal to me.

I just posted my Shika pics in a different tread "Shinka-Ricks....".
Sorry, I should have looked for this thread first.
Oh well...rookie mistake.
I have gotten the most compliments on the interior of my Shinka.
It has such a classy look and feel.
I'm going to get some really good pics when the weather gets nice and I can drive it to the beach.
Later.

These are pics in the shade just after a wash. If your curious what shinka looks like with the stock spoiler, exhaust finishers, aero package, and rotary accents.....
Will try and get some in the sun next weekend.
