Maine SHINKA
Hi
Just got my Shinka early this August. I have the SHINKA plate here in Maine.
Love the car - drives much better than my BMW - really more FUN to drive than any car I have ever had - without a doubt best looking car on the road - with Shinka Dark Cherry color.
let me know if any of you "Shinkas" come to Maine

It's Back!!!!!!
FINALLY! Got my Shinka back from the dealer after they mucked about with it on "I owes" on the original purchase for 3 weeks. Dang, they had it longer than I did.
So now to scour the forum for tips on cleaning, rotor rust, etc. I'm getting ready to take the Batmobile out for a spin..............

Plastic film?
I don't know if this is a "Shinka" thing or regular RX-8. On the body of the car, lower rear wheel area, there is a rectangular plastic film.
I first saw it when I was buying the car bacause there was a little wax build up around the edges that made it noticable. When I asked, the sales guy said it was to protect against road debris. OK
Due to a "ding" at purchase, the dealer need to repaint the passenger rear quarter. I got it back yesterday and noticed today that the "film" is missing on that side. It's still on the driver's side.
Does this really serve a purpose or was it part of the "shipping protection"? Should I tell the dealer to replace the missing one or take the other one off?

It is for road debris protection. The car's aerodynamics kicks up dirt and things along the rear undrside so without it you might be looking at a few paint chips later. Make sure the dealer replace it.

Zoom Zoom Decal
I got my "welcome to Mazda" letter in the mail this week. It contained a white "zoom-zoom" decal in it. Have any of you put this on your Shinka? If so where?
Would that be considered a mod? :D
