Just got my 05 black cherry shinka last Friday. I haven't had time to get any good pics of it on my own, but this is the pic the dealership took of it when I found it. I love it!!!!!

About the rock chips
From the Mazda Website:
Coinciding with the opening of the 2005 Chicago Auto Show, Mazda today announced its RX-8 "SHINKA" Special Edition is now available at local Mazda dealers. The Mazda RX-8 "SHINKA" Special Edition takes its name from the Japanese word meaning "evolution" or "transformation," and adds design style and performance to the highly successful sportscar. Only 2,150 "SHINKA" Special Edition cars will be produced.
"We’ve taken the RX-8 – a car already lauded by customers and media alike – to a new level of sophistication and exclusivity with the ‘SHINKA’ Special Edition," said Weldon Munsey, RX-8 vehicle line manager for Mazda North American Operations (MNAO). "Improved ride and handling capabilities giving it the speed and handling to literally dodge all rock chips as they come flying at you like your baby momma looking for her next check making SHINKA’ Special Edition the ultimate RX-8."

Pfft I need rock climbing capabilities on mine >.< The other day I saw another rx8 pull up to an intersection as I was passing it - the first one ive seen driving in my town. So i do a quick turn onto a side road to catch up and ended up with a 40 mph surprise onto a dirt road full of potholes
