Calling all Black Cherry Shinkas

I'm glad people post in this thread.
FYI, because of the limited production (and the fact that I baby mine) some insurances will list the Shinka as a Collectors/Classic insurance category.
Yay $20 a month!

Time to sell my beautiful Shinka
I've made a decision to sell my black cherry Shinka...it pains me but my daughter and son in law need a family car and I'd like to help them get one. Mine is a 6 speed manual 2005 with 72,000 miles, all the bells and whistles. It is in perfect shape, garage kept, only driven in warm months. Anyone know what I should expect to get for it?

Perhaps they will start going for more at some of these fancy car auctions I keep seeing on TV.

Bronze wheels?
Hey folks, have you noticed how Black Cherry Mica reveals a subtle bronze-ish tint in certain light? I'm wondering if perhaps wheels with a bronze color in them might work well.
(I like - but don't love - my OEM Shinka wheels. I'm totally into handling, so have thought about getting lighter wheels to significantly reduce unsprung weight. Maybe even… gasp… 17s!)

Mine didn't! I got it a few months ago with 39k on the clock lol. body needs some TLC, but I'm waiting patiently to do a Genuine Mazdaspeed front bumper and skirts and the Re-amemiya rear bumper. Once mine does need a rebuilt I'll probably end up 13brew swapping it. If it's still good by next winter I'll just take it out and store it and swap the brew in. Then swap it back out if I ever decide I want to sell it lol

Thanks! I've been taking good care of her Amsoil Sabre Pro Fully Synthetic for premix. Also used Amsoil 10W-40 and an Amsoil Pro oil filter when I changed the oil. Changing the trans and diff fluid to Redline. Scheduled an appointment with a Paintless dent repair shop to get these little dings taken out. And ordering some Zaino car detailing supplies and some 3000 and 5000 grit sandpaper to give her rough spots a nice wet sand and polish to bring the depth back to the paint Will post pics once it's all said and done

Hello, fellow Shinkas! An old pic, but it's too dark out to go take a newer one.
Slightly off-topic, does anyone know the best way to re-apply the B-pillar Shinka decal? The previous owner was in a mild t-bone and the body shop he took it to didn't re-apply the Shinka decal on the driver side, just painted the B-pillar the body color.
If anyone knows where I could still get one as well, I'd appreciate it! I thought Jim Ellis Mazda had them in stock, but turns out their website wasn't up to date.

Hello everyone brand new to the forums but a loooong time FD owner. Please help out a fellow rotorhead. I'd like to check out your special Shinka up close in person in day time. I've been searching for clear photos of the paint but I think the color scheme is best visualized in person. Your BCM must be in very good/clean condition. For your trouble I'll buy you a beer or lunch I'm in the South Bay area of LA but am willing to drive out.

That's a nice looking Shinka! Where in SD are you? I've been looking for an owner who would be nice enough to allow me to see the Black Cherry Mica paint in person. Would it be possible to come check it out in person during the day? I'm in LA but willing to drive down.

Shinka Ressurrection!
Here's my 2005 Shinka: 170k miles. Fastidious owner. Out of action since 2014. I swapped in an engine, did the recalls, and have a awesome running RX-8.
Clean, apart from a ruined clear bra.
Love the parchment.
