Greetings from the Land of Enchantment. Bought mine last week and the fact that, at the time, it was only the third one in the state (could be four now, not sure) is pretty cool. Having a bit of an ego trip as this baby is such a head turner.

I had the dubious distinction of having it hauled into the shop three days after purchase. There was a loose bolt in my transmission. Only other disappointment is the gas mileage; but hopefully it'll improve after a bit.

What's everyone else getting for mileage and what Octane is everyone using? I'm using 91 for now, but was curious if anyone has used 88 at all and if there's any noticeable detriment.

Cheers!!

yep, i agree.....never heard it put like that before but only a shinka owner will understand.. :D
I got mine back in March.....no problems, no worries....gas mileage is not the greatest but not the worst...drops a little with each performance mod of course...
I would love to know how many in my state......I just did the calipers this weekend in gold...looks really sweet....once you do one mod you cant stop..enjoy and welcome to the club..

The Shinka is SUCH a beautiful car!!

Congrats to all of you.

Quick question: Any of you disappointed that Navigation is not available on the Shinka?
I know it's not the most reliable unit ever designed, but it just didn't make any sense when I noticed it wasn't even an option.

I am disappointed that the Nav cannot be added aftermarket and look stock. However I'd still have bought the Shinka even if I had known beforehand.

Yea, had the GPS been available, I probably would have gotten it, but I'm XXXtremely happy with the appearance of this gem!! I had thought the spoiler was standard on all Shinka's ..guess not

sorry girl for being late. Check my updated pics on my previous post. BTW I got the chrome fuel door. I'm thinking about selling it and buying the pearl satin instead, it would look better IMO.

pic size fixed...

I don't know what happened. I got it stored in hpphoto.com website. I wonder if the fact that the website needed password has something to do with it... Can somebody help me out?

ps. Shinka213, look at my previous post for the pics. They are smaller due to rx8club.com 100kb limit.

I got the chrome finish one. It is very easy to install, just make sure you tape up the surrounding area per instruction. I got some light scratches from trying to shortcut the installation :D .

I'll probably sell mine and get a pearl satin finish instead to complement the wheels and bezel trims on the lights. You want it?

I was thinking of the pearl satin myself....I agree, it will definitely go better with rims, etc.....
what would you ask for it?

for my chrome ones? I thought you're thinking of the pearl satin one??? cheapest price is around $89+shipping online.

Go get a new one if you really like the satin, no use getting one that you won't like later on (like me) price is not bad anyway...

I'll try to sell it on the forum. Somebody with chrome wheels might want it (unless YOU really want it). :D

im workin on an appearance pkg and thinkin about a borla cat back.....ive got finishers on the way.....you know what they say? ONE MOD IS TOO MANY AND A THOUSAND IS NEVER ENOUGH!!! lol

I am a little confused on the Exhaust finishers. Are they just exhaust tips, or are they inserts that go around the space that the exhaust pipe is coming out from?

Thanks

They attach to the plastic around the exhaust pipes. Unless your on the ground tho you don't really notice them. Heres a link.

I'd like to find some black "exhaust finishers". I just think it would look cool as well as being more distinguishable and I'd have an easier time finding my car in the parking lot!! :D

I'm not inclined to do the gas cover replacement, I like it being color matched.

Have I mentioned lately how AWESOME this gem is??
