Hello all!
Bought a new Shinka on 24th April. First new car I've ever owned. Love it!
Got rid of my RX7 back in 2000 that I had before I started a family.
Wife came home on a Friday night with a new Vibe and I caught the new car bug.
Sat around Saturday checking new cars out on the web. Decided to hop on over to Mazda.com to see what they had since I liked my 7 so much and saw they had an 8. Never knew it was released...becoming a family man does that to you...tunnel vision. Knew I had to have the Shinka so I slipped out of the house on Sunday morning, and a few hours later...pulled up in my driveway in my new Shinka! Woot what a treat!
Damn fine car.

No mods...YET
Got all the dealer installed options though, thrown in for free.
Still waiting on my spoiler. Dealer says they ordered the wrong color...yea right. He conveniently forgot if you ask me.
Have a Monday appointment for my first oil change. Gonna see the GM and get some accessories thrown in if my spoiler isn't in yet.

hi everyone1 just bought my shinka a few days ago...Dam its nice...my first new car ever. I told my wife that she better get used to walking far because i am not parking so close in the mall or to other places were all the beat up cars go. It took a while for me to find one. my wife wanted a 4 door but what once i showed her the car in person she loved it!

Only 2 pictures I have now.
Wife took them when I was detailing it.
After my next detailing, I'm going to get some good pictures for my desktop

Hi! Bought shinka on..... I dont remember. lol Maybe like a month ago. I've never seen shinka on the street. Does anyone have shinka near southbay??? Anyways, its a very nice car.
I dont park near the mall either. My boyfriend has s2000 and when he parked near the mall, the car had footprints and a dent. His friend just bought scion tc n someone keyed her car after few days she bought her car.
Lets hope our shinkas wont get beat up like theirs.

I think that was me. I live in the Cerritos, Cypress, Buena Park & Anaheim section of the OC. I work near downtown Long Beach so I see at least 3 RX8 during my drive to work.. but no other Shinkas.

Well, it depends on what you mean by stock...
I've already added the rotary accents and ordered my strakes from the guy in England. I'm probably gonna put clear corners on it and I might also consider putting a Mazda spoiler on it, eventually, too.
However, I'm not going to do any replacement body parts, fuel doors, or stuff like that.
So, does this count as "keeping it stock" or not?

C'mon, guys... One of the rotary's greatest attribute is being able to customize it, Shinka included...
Think of this as like having a Harley bike, you just can't keep your hands off the mod button :D

That's cool.. I've got no problems w/mods... just not for me. Besides, that's why I bought the Special Edition Shinka. If I wanted to mod my 8, I'd go all out with a baseline...just my $.02.

After the dealer installs my spoiler I might get clear corners but that is it for now.
We'll see how long that lasts

"clear corners" is when you replace the factory amber lens along the front fenders to a "clear" one which are japaanese spec (also known as JDM spec). It just makes the car cleaner IMO since I think orange and the car's purplish tint does not go together.

The alarm goes off more than 5 times while I'm at work. It goes off when harley pass by my car, when a car next to my car starts the engine.... sigh....
Is shinka sold out yet?? Mazda is only making 2150shinkas right?
I went to long beach mazda but they only had one left. which became mine :D :D

If you get clear corners, get the stealth bulbs, too. A little more $$ but worth it to get rid of the egg yolk effect that the amber colored bulbs cause.
