I bought clear corners, had them on for about a month, and then sold them. I had clears on my other vehicles, because it was something everyone was doing...not because I liked them. I guess I've grown up a little since then. I don't like them because they look cheap. I think it is personal preference...afterall, people hate my dash kit because it looks cheap to them....

I agree ont he Red and the Yellow. Orange looks good. It even looks good on the green, but I say the clears definitely look better on the black. Again its all about your personal opinion.
Question about wheels though...
I haven't seen any black "8"s sporting sick chrome wheels and it makes me wonder why? I really like the look of the black deep dish wheels with the polished lip but there are soooo many out there like that.
I wanna be different yet have it still look SWEET!
COMMENTS ANYONE???
Basically my ride is stock so far, attached are some pics. The first one is after I just buffed it with Meguiars Tech Wax and a 10" Random Orbital. Other two are at York Beach in Maine a couple weeks ago on the EAST COAST RX8 Coastal run. THere were 20 8's that day.

What kind of wheel style do you like....5-spoke, mesh. What wheels have you seen that you like? I'm sure if you post some pics of wheels you do like, people will give their opinions and make suggestions on similar wheels to the ones you post.
You are right about the current fad of dark wheels. On plus, for me at least, is that I don't have to worry about water spots as bad as when I had polished billet wheels on my S10.

The majority of owners don't go w/ chrome because most are tuners and don't want the bling bling look. Also at a performance stand point they are really heavy, and cost much more money as opposed to alloy wheels. Nice pics 9kRPM, the clear corners are looking mighty sexy on your car.

Definatley makes it stand out from the crowd, sometimes a good reaction, sometimes bad...but I'm the one who gets to look at it everyday. I figure, we do so many mods to the outside of our car that we don't get to enjoy while we're driving. This is definately something I get to enjoy everyday. 2 other 8 owners in our San Bernardino group have done the same thing to theirs. One is a white 8 with silver/grey carbon fiber, and the other is yellow with a yellow dash kit.

regarding your rim choices....I quickly realized that a lot fo the rims I actually liked, didn't come in big enough sizes for our car. Most rims you'll find will go as large as 18's and 19's, but their widths (i.e. 18x7) are smaller than our stock wheels.
I too, was looking at that last rim you posted, and was even contemplating the same wheel with red insets (instead of black) to go with my interior. Thought against it...and the fact that i couldn't get a wide enough rim helped me in that decision.

Ahhhhhhh! I just noticed... where did you get those black wheel centers? I want some just like that! The black with the chrome Mazda symbol on them.
