Decals?

Anyone getting decals?
Was wondering whether its a good idea or not..

dmc27 12-28-2007 01:11 PM

There are some 8s out there (and some pics on here) with stripes or other decals on them.

The 8 has enough going on with the lines Mazda designed. Doesn't need stuff to clutter or take away from those lines. But to each their own, ya dig?

Not sure how easy it is to find them, but a search by thread titles for 'stripes' 'decals' or something like that should turn up a few of them. Or just wade thru the photo section.

I agree. I plan on putting no decals or stripes on the car. Until I saw this picture, I just spent 15 minutes trying to find it to post it on here. It's was a Brilliant Black RX8, with a white stripe that had RX8 on the rear part of it. It was on the rocker panel. It looks like the idea was taken on the new Mustangs...FIND THE PICTURE

I took some pictures at lastnights meet.

Hey question for us BB's. I'm looking for wheels for my car. I'm not going to put any appearance packages, or body kits. Would a 19 look way to big for it? Should I stick with the 18"? I plan on lowering it too. Going with bronze wheels once I get some money going again

dmc27 12-29-2007 01:22 PM

19s look great. Even lowered you can go up, but you'll have to check around in the wheels & tires section for widths that fit w/o rolling fenders. Pretty sure 19x9 will fit all 4, 19x9.5 may require rolling - but I'm not 100% on that.

BlackRX82006 12-29-2007 01:26 PM

I don't mind the rolling, I was looking at staggered wheels. I just dont' want to buy wheels and realize they look too big for the car. I'm kinda nervous to put a 19" rim on it. I've seen some 8's with wheels that look way too big

dmc27 12-29-2007 01:45 PM

^ probably more a result of the wheel width and tire sizes, not the 18 v. 19 inch wheel diameter.

19x9 v. 19x10 and 245/40 v. other tire sizes make a ton of difference in the overall look.

BlackRX82006 12-29-2007 02:12 PM

I'm looking for wider tires in the back, So 9.5s". I've seen 8's with just wheels that look way to big for it. It's not even the tires

just my personal opinion but I've never really seen the point in replacing our perfectly good 18 inch wheels with other 18's. If you're going to upgrade, I say make it a full upgrade and go bigger and wider. :)
19's would look good on your car if you lower it or you'll have too much gap

lesper4 12-29-2007 07:26 PM

wow those are blingy, is that a black lip? can you get some more pictures showing us the dish?

mx193 12-30-2007 01:02 AM

I will take some tomorrow. I have 19X8.5 in the front and 19X10 in the rear.

BlackRX82006 12-30-2007 01:54 AM

MX193, is your 8 lowered?

No. I just got the wheels about three weeks ago. I am going to get a set of coil overs when I find a company to make the ones I want. I haven't found a off the shelf set yet. What I am looking for, is a set that I can adjust the ride hieght from inside the car. If you have seen a CLS or CL 63 they have this setup out of the box. YOu can program it to suck down at speed and adjust damping and rebound as well.

BlackRX82006 12-30-2007 11:35 AM

Alright man, thanks

people upgrade their good 18inch wheels to get a better offset!! not like our factory 18in wheels with the 50et offset!!

BlackRX82006 12-30-2007 05:24 PM

I was actually think of leaving it at 18", and putting a wider width in the back. Maybe about a 9.5' in the back, and going 8 or 8.5 in the front. I think 19's will be too big for it. I'm not adding any type of body kits of appearance packages
