polished mine. guide can be found here: https://www.rx8club.com/do-yourself-...ut-bar-235398/
Also made a custom Polycarbonate intake tray to replace the ugly oem one that is impossible to clean. I wanted to see more of the fun stuff under the tray, but i also wanted to keep intake temps down. compromised. Took a 2 hour drive to south nj a few days ago, 1 hour cruising at 85 and no signs of it coming close to melting.
Also made a custom tow hook license plate bracket.
WELCOME TOMAGO!

Update**
Ok well I woke up this morning and decided I was tired of that boring Matte finish the plasti-dip gave my wheels, So i used some left over Clear protective coating spray from a different project and gave it that glossy look I wanted. Turned out alot better than I thought it would. Now the wheels just pop out more. Def good easy mod. And I also put in some red rear turning signals, because that orange is nasty too. The first picture is after the protective coating, and the last is of the rear turn signals with the hazards on. For some reason the before pic wouldnt load, but if you know what normal black plasti dipped wheels look like, that was it. Comments and Feedback, as always, are welcome. Enjoy!!

^so you sprayed clear over the PD??
In my experience with working with PD and clear, is that it makes it a lot more difficult to peel off. Also since the PD dries dimpley, the clear makes the dimples stick out even more. But it looks like its all good on your wheel.
Lets see some side shots, i might do this for the winter(yeah right like im gonna be able to drive my car in the snow after lowering it 2 inches lol )

^ Yeah I tried it on something else first to be safe, but It seems that as long as you have a good base of that PD the clear wont affect it as far as coming up, all you have to do is get thru the clear to the PD then it will peel right away. Thats why I did a light coat on mine. So far no dimples have shown (fingers crossed) there werent hardly any with just the PD on there but like you said the clear may show it more. Ill take a side pic later and post it so you can see.

Alright guys, depending on if i can befriend the guy who lets people use the CNC machine, i might be able to get some progress going on the badges ive been talking about.
IM NOT TALKING PRICE AT THE MOMENT, Its against forum rules. So dont ask!
Ill update this post of the graphic and what it should look like more or less. I need input from you guys though.
IMAGINE IT LIKE THIS: The black area is the metal surface that has been PC'd. The silver in the image is where the drill would EXTRACT material. So we have 2 levels here. The Top black layer and the silver lower level.
If you dont want your name there, then i can just center #x/1000
I know the text isnt uniform, the fact is the text isnt even uniform on the badge itself. I could redo the letters using whatever font in the same exact locations to make everything look uniform.
Mounting is up to you, some people have said they wanted it on the ashtray, or i wanted it by the heated seats switches, you could even rivet it to the engine bay probably. All edges will be rounded so nobody cuts their wrists and makes their red interior more red.
Roughly id say 2x5inches aluminum and powder coated any color you guys want me to do. Personally I feel as though black is the best option, but i will only buy 1 color so ill take the collective opinion and buy the one the most people want.
There are all sorts of blacks that i can do too... Diamond metallic(looks alot like the diamond black mica rx8 color), black starust(basically black with silver/dark silver speckles) high gloss black, semi gloss black, satin black, flat black....unless you just want me as the designer to take over and choose for you. Obviously the nicer things in life are more expensive, so the metallic nice paints cost more for me. I could try to match our red color in our seats, though i think that would look weird. I could try to match the exterior MGM.
Its basically a 2x5 plate powder coated, and CNC'd a replica of our 40th anniversary logo with your # x/1000 under it. If you want your rx8club username next to it or around it or something i can do that too for a small extra charge.
I dont think it will break any banks / cause wives to overreact. Dont expect it to be dollar store price either, i have a lot of overhead to cover and need to see if i can work out a deal with the cnc guy. PM me if you want a closer approx.
ANY SHINKA OWNERS, i can do something similar for you, with the shinka logo. or any rx8 owner in general, i can always just edit the design (obviously, i did it in 2 min) and just add your rx8club username, or real name or whatever.

I think this and satin black would be nice.
This is the Nismo limited edition plate for refrence what an oem plate looks like.
Hopefully the accuracy will be close, if not as good as this on our CNC machine.
Our plate will be black though on the surface.
