Anybody else? I want to see some sexy coilovers or wheels!
Nah...not me.

Have waaaaay too many hobbies going on. My 40th AE is just one of them. Going to spend my holiday money on a new tube guitar amp with a speaker cab That's a couple grand right there. I guess I could get coilovers with that But hey....girls like guys that can play the guitar more than what they like cars

Also need to get a few parts for my truck

The 8 would have to wait.

How much do the mudguards cost? I've never had front mudguards on either this car with aero or my previous one with aero.

As for Christmas I might be landing a sick deal on a MazdaSpeed spoiler/trunk lid that will need to be repainted from Nordic Green. I've always wanted that spoiler and with it coming with the trunk lid I won't even need to drill holes in my current non-spoiler lid. Should be an easy swap out too.

Only other spoiler I considered was the APR GTC-200 wing, and that's a little above my needs and pay-range right now.

Picked up the wing and trunk lid today... wondering how much it's gonna cost to get it painted all purdy like.

I like the gtc200 as well, but it would be 110% rice without a bodykit and aggressive wheels with an aggressive drop.

I like the Ings+1 spoiler and the spoiler by Varis as well.

Also +1 on the wheels, they look hot.

yeah! they look great!

i have thrown the idea around doing it to mine, but i just love the way our wheels have a metallic finish to them compared to the 09-13's

also, i installed my AutoExe steering wheel cover..

i messed up stitching one side and it came out a little wrinkley in one corner.. But my second side came out PERFECT! unfortunately i installed the grips a little too low on the left side so i have to re-do the whole top portion.

I stitched it together with red thread and my matching alcantara shift boot with red stitching is en-route from the UK.

ill post pics once i fix my errors in stitching. It took about 5 hours to sew up.

the finish is definitely awesome as is....it was a struggle to decide whether or not to paint em haha. But i used PlastiDip as a primer and then painted over them with decent black spray paint. Since i used the dip as a base, i can peel it off whenever i feel like it. Also i changed my fender strakes to black so the look flows better with black wheels and my dark tint. I appreciate the compliments man!

ugh..... you shouldnt have done that.......

How long did you wait before adding paint over the PD?

if it didnt cure completely, then trying to peel it off will be a pain in the ***..

the finish is meh.. Its just as good as PD. Next time dont cover PD, it really doesnt like it, the chemicals from other paint bond to it and it does weird **** and wont want to peel in easy big chunks.

trust me - im a professional.

I've done it before on my bro's STI winter wheels and the finish has always been smooth and nice. I waited for the proper time before painting with actual paint. Besides, i figure if i get them powder coated this summer like i plan to, the dip n spray will come right off from the heat and then they can apply whatever i tell em to. ( a buddy i know who does the powder said this is possible with any kind of paint) Plus It's a good way to protect the wheels from the dangers of winter driving.

I would also consider painting my 40th AE wheels with a dark metallic finish - something similar to the R3 wheels - but instead of glossy I would prefer matte.

I think dark metallic wheels with the metropolitan gray mica would look cool.

going back a few post i have been thinking about a spoiler recently. ive been debating between an MS and a GTO. been leaning more towards the GTO as its a lot cheaper. a local black 8 has one and it flows real nice and Rotr8's looks good too. really the only thing holding me back is if i make aero changes technically i change autox classes to one i wont be competitive in at all.

i only autox for fun and am not nearly good enough to compete on at anything above my local clubs, but i dont know how strick the clubs going to be with the rules. one of the clubs i run with i am already put in the unlimited class cause they dont follow SCCA classes and the rotary doesnt fit in a class they have and there are never enough of us there to have our own class so that one doesnt matter, lol. i really like my like the dark wheels with our color my winter wheels are bright silver and it looks so strange. the only good thing about my winter set up, besides the obvious traction advantage, is the OD on the tire is about 1.5" more than my summers so the speedo is actually right and i have no fender gap, lol.

As soon as I get all my repainting figured out I'll put up some pics of the MazdaSpeed spoiler. After talking to a friend, in order to make this look right it's going to take a lot more than I thought. Blending the quarters to match the trunk lid, reapplying all of the adhesive that got messed up when I disassembled everything, and all that.

sprint spring drop with 25mm spacers, no full car shots until i get it washed.

No rubbing on oem tires, with mysterious alignment, no alignment was done after i lowered the car so i have no idea what the specs are like.

This is the shot of my rear right tire after not having an alignment for about 5k miles with ~3* of camber maybe.

dont think i ever posted this up, but it was right around when i got her. went on a run in bear mountain

yes i believe so, i mean... i took it inside and i gave that wheel a wash, bitches love washes.

i let the air out of it when i was done, but during i didnt hear anything and it seemed like it was holding..

im wondering if i should inflate the wheel at home now that the wheel is off the car.. some lighter fluid and a flame will inflate that baby up.

tires came in the mail today from tirerack had to buy all seasons for the winter months.. General Gmax AS03's.
