Calling all Metropolitan Gray Mica!?

I scratched the whole MS kit idea a couple years back. I started to buy the kit, but ended up selling the parts to a local member here. I think that sometimes simpler is better. The 8 with a good coilover stance, "fitting" wheels/tires with the correct offset, and other simple mods like lighting, exhaust, brakes, Cobb, gauges, etc etc, is just as sexy as the highly modded 8's out there. Maybe I'm just getting old, but a car with too much done to it can ruin the overall appeal.

just scored a set of used beaten up tail lights for helping a friend install his intake..
i cut it open and experimented with them for a LED retrofit.
yay or nay for a LED ring around the brake light?
also, leave the shroud black? or paint it another color? gunmetal?
get rid of the 2 strakes?
tint the red reflector?
delete the 2 chrome shrouds and make 1 big led ring for the turn signal and have the inside be reverse like the S2 lights?
im down for anything, just not tinting the outer lens. im not 100% sold on something like that.

if it was me and i was just doing to see what i could do i would put a second ring inside the brake ring for when you step on the brake and lose that silver parabolic and the bulb.
for the rest i would try and loose the strakes, see if i could make two C's next to each other for the turn signal with the reverse light in the center of one. if you could get the C's to light sequentially i think that would be cool.
like this kind of.... CCO O CO CCO

Finally back to the summer look. Wheels and ride height adjustments completed. Rotors, pads, and calipers this weekend.
Freshly clayed, polished, waxed.
Front bumper is pretty chipped up. Time for some fresh paint
The rear bumper and exhaust finishers were covered with exhaust residue from running a mid pipe. Really has to work the clay to get it looking good.
Pretty clean for almost 100K
I will porbroly try working the paint some more. I'm happy with the results, but it's still not perfect. Not looking to bad for a car with 92K

whats going on guys..
i recently installed racing brakes open slotted rotors with ET500 pads and stainless brake lines.
i might jump on a set of RPF1's.. not sure if i want to paint them or leave them silver...
thoughts MRL?

Well after 103,800mi my engines compression went to ****. 800mi on the new engine. Very glad Mazda worked out a lot of the issues with their remans. Not so glad the engine needed to be replaced so suddenly after the warranty period had expired.

So, if the engine died after the warranty expired, why did you choose a Mazda reman - as opposed to getting a rebuild from a reputable builder?

I should have had them put in the Mazdaspeed flywheel while they were at it...
Sadly I traded my 8 in last June for a new 2014 Mazda6....
