^^ yeah but we can't get around customs for the bumper. Customs is adding 2K to the price since the selling isn't a licensed merchant.

^^ You are weird. JK...

Question for you though dude. How do you think my car would look with an OEM style CF hood? never really thought of going that direction but there is one in town for stupid cheap.

Yes, I am

Stupid cheap is good. Personally I am not a fan on the RX-8 unless you have a CF theme going. CF hoods will fade, regardless of brand. I have had everything from Seibon to VIS on previous cars and they all faded regardless of waxing, etc.

However, I am considering getting a functional vented hood and having it painted VR. One thing I hate is RX-8's that are bone stock with a CF hood. The factory hood is super light so weight is a non issue.

Have you considered 3M (CF DI Hoc) wrapping you hood? It will stand up to the elements better than the CF hoods out there from what I hear and if it doesn't it's an easy fix.

I was really only thinking of grabbing the hood because it is local and $250... How about long do these things last?

Man, my Seibon (most expensive) only lasted about 1 1/2 years here in Texas.

So after they fade what are your options? Can they be resurfaced or they're just disposable hoods?

They can be re-cleared if there is no damage to gel coat.

I vote no unless you black out your wheels and get spacers Yeah to me it wasn't worth it, on my Maxima I just had it resprayed the factory color and on my CRX I just traded someone for a factory hood.

Yeah I just don't see a theme. If you go with it, space out the wheels and have the wheels done in gloss black. Then have all the lower trim done on the MS kit in gloss black

Oh yeah... that's another thing... I'd have to keep going with the look. This hood introduces and entirely new direction for the car. I would need more black in places... that's another thing keeping me from jumping on this. The look will completely change and if I ever find my Momo's I don't think the hood will go at all.

I dunno... I think I might have to skip the deal.

Nah I really want the silver... the black lip on those disappear in the tire. The full silver has such a classier look that I don't think a ricey hood would match. I can find those black ones no problem.. it's finding the damn silver ones that is proving impossible!

One site had only black, another site had only 17's and the last site had 19's for 1k PER WHEEL!!!! I keep hoping someone has a set and parts out their car.

Yeah I agree, I have seen them on a yellow 8 and I don't like them either. I think the CF thing is done unless you get creative. I do like it on interiors though.

Yeah it's that yellow 8 that really made me not like the black momo's.

As for carbon fiber, subtle accents of CF are nice. Or if the entire look of the car is built around the CF then fine. But in my case, I don't think it is as simple as just adding the hood. I'd have to add other stuff to make the hood work. Thanks for the input dude.
