Can you upload a close up of the red calipers (front and rear) with some of the car, to see the contrast? What paint did you use? I am comtemplating silver because I am worried that the red may conflict with the car. Looks great in the pictures.

salituro,
I haven't had a chance to take the pic for you, but I'll try to get to it tonight and upload it. Finding out the color requires me to run to the garage and take a look at the paint can, and I've been too lazy. Haha...soon.

salituro,
The paint used to paint my calipers and brake rotors was from plasti-kote.

The color has held up well through the winter, but up-close you can tell that it needs to be re-painted. These pictures are unaltered. The color looks very close to the Velocity Red of my RX-8.

Calipers looking great! You may have seen my previous thread about my calipers on the "other" forum. http://www.rx8web.com/showthread.php...lipers+flaking Duplicolor gave me a great color too, but didn't hold up thru last winter. There was soo much paint in the kit that I re-did them this spring. Looking good again, but if they flake off again this Winter, I think I will just paint the '8 rust metallic so it looks the same as the calipers! That may last longer than the red calipers. What do you think!

glassetcher,
Haha...you might start a new trend...or you could use it to bribe chip foose to give your ride an OVERHAULIN.

lesper4,
I see what you mean, but I think it's just the angle of the picture. I was laying on the garage floor taking these...haha. They're straight. But my **** retentive self will have to check them as soon as I get to the car after work just to make sure.

The red looks like a pretty good match with the 8. So does this Plasti-Kote hold up well?

Yeah, it's been on since late last summer...I'd say it's holding up well.

Nice ride kunz.

I bought it at Pep Boys. I can't remember the price. It's cheap. I'm sure there's enough left for me to redo them next summer too.

A local guy puts on a car show every Thurs at a local Hardees - sets up a table, plays oldies on a stereo in the parking lot, gets Hardees to supply cups for free soda, etc. Muscle cars, street rods, 40s and 50s classics, everything imaginable comes out of the woodwork on any given night. There is also a friend of his that takes pics of all the cars that show up and then posts them online. He does a real nice job, likes unique angles, etc. I've had my '8 there a couple of times and it generaates quite a bit of interest.

Here are some pics from one of those nights.

Just thought I would throw in one of my "other ride" I had there on another evening.

If anyone is interested in seeing pics of the other cars that were there, here's the site

http://dknurr.com/hardeesaug2206/index.html

Enjoy!
