In-car Camera Rig and Track Video's

In the DIY section I posted some instructions for a simple-to-make in-car camera mount:

https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-do-yourself-forum-73/diy-camera-mount-car-videos-34881/#post462183

Here it is installed:

And now for some video to download to your hard disk to show it in action. Videos taken in an RX-8 6 speed on the track.

Hot Laps (33 Mb)
First time out on this track.

Got him - when game enough (6 Mb)

Pass - then spin! (12 Mb)
Mitsubishi wanted to make trouble. Then a big 'moment'. See the ABS and DSC lights come on. DSC = "single off" mode.

Passing 3rd Gen RX-7 (5 Mb)
I think he was still letting the sphinkter calm down after an earlier spin!

Hymee Exhaust Flames (4Mb)
Watch the left tail pipe in front at about 2 seconds in.

Enjoy!

Cheers,
Hymee.

So if I put a LOW-RES version on as well?? My problem is always quality comes first!! Can you suggest a format / settings that you would like to see?

It is Queensland Raceway, using the "sprint circuit". Go see www.queenslandraceway.com.au and there is a track layout there. But we use a variation to the "main" track. If you watch the video carefully, you can work it out. That big long back straight with the very fast entry (turn 2) followed by the very sharp hairpin (turn 3) is a bit too much of an ask for street cars. The "sprint" circuit is awesome just the same!

Cheers,
Hymee.

Great stuff. You need to stop the lens down a bit so we can see the road on sunny days like that!

Why don't you stream them in RealMedia for the low-res people out there?

Hymee Enhancements will do that to a car!

Hehehe. Yeah - we get the fast ones here. I actually get up to 170 into turn 1.

Shhh - nobody tell him we are in kilometers per hour, not miles. Hang on - ignore that - I am just freaking fast!!! :p

Cheers,
Hymee.

camera in air dam, mic in rear

i have mounted a cam in the front fascia in front of radiator and ran mic cord with professional mic mounted inside rear diffuser for great exhaust sound.
really great results...try it!

Aweomse video Hymee, what mods do you have on the car, is it stock?! I saw the speedometer hit at least 160 one time, love to know what you have done.

I did say that it was in km/h if y'all scroll up a few posts.

And it hit 170 before braking into turn 1, on at least one occasion.

Cheers,
Hymee.

Yeah I realized that after I looked at the video and noticed you driving from the right side of the car. Probably should have been a good sign that you were in km\h.

The sound is there. Perhaps a audio codec issue?

It goes, ah, well, oh forget it.

Cheers,
Hymee.
