It would be like one of us going into a corvette forum w/ the title "What i bought instead of a corvette"....and then proceed to post pics of a stock RX-8. You would have to expect some drilling. Sorry, but ol dude asked for it.

Well put. If you have the money you can make any car fast, you can even make a Civic faster then a Vette in a straight-line and around the track. But you damn sure know the Vette is the better car not to mention all the money you just blew. I do have to admit I like the RSX. OP, enjoy the car when it come down to it its all about what you like. My wife hates my car but loves her 4dr wrangler.

everyone acts so different on the internet, if you met this guy in a store or a parking lot and he mentioned "hey i almost got an rx8 but I got this rsx instead" you would actually have a good conversation about cars. Instead ALOT of people here find it fun to act like *******'s to total strangers because of the anonymous feature of an online forum.
As for my opinion I think they're great cars, and the N/A potential is just as great as the turbo/SC potential. There are low 13 sec/ high 12 N/A rsx's rolling about town (thats without nitrous as well.)
I say happy motoring, cheers.

I have never competed against a rx-8 in autocross, but I know my car isnt too much slower than high performance awd and rwd cars. I trail behind not by much, and I am stock

I got walked by a Type S from a 70MPH roll while spraying a 55 shot. Obviously the RSX I raced was modded but I didn't hear a blow off and what got me is that when we got up to 130MPH or so he really started to pull on me. Now, I have raced many stock RSX's at track and stock to stock the RSX's are slower but they are still great cars. To say that the RX8 and has racing heritage behind it and the DC5 does not is just ignorant. I agree the RX8 is better in many ways but the DC5 is better than the RX8 in many ways too.
I appreciate all performance cars and the DC5 is a very capable platform. If the Type S had the Brembos from the Type R it would definately give the 8 a run for it's money on a road course.
