THE car I picked over the RX-8
#51
I have never lost to a rx-8 even when I was stock.
Bolt ons do a world of difference to our cars. 13 seconds is possible with 2 mods. with tires and more bolt on's low 13's.
From a roll I can beat allot of cars. I would post videos but most of you would just talk **** like you are already doing.

I got walked by a Type S from a 70MPH roll while spraying a 55 shot. Obviously the RSX I raced was modded but I didn't hear a blow off and what got me is that when we got up to 130MPH or so he really started to pull on me. Now, I have raced many stock RSX's at track and stock to stock the RSX's are slower but they are still great cars. To say that the RX8 and has racing heritage behind it and the DC5 does not is just ignorant. I agree the RX8 is better in many ways but the DC5 is better than the RX8 in many ways too.
I appreciate all performance cars and the DC5 is a very capable platform. If the Type S had the Brembos from the Type R it would definately give the 8 a run for it's money on a road course.

Badass car choice color, I wanted VR when I test drove the 8... Gotta love that rwd... that is why I almost got one over a rsx.

I think RSX's are sweet cars. I would own one except they're FWD. I had a neighbor in my old apartment complex that had a turbo Type-S running mid 12's on high boost and street tires, not bad, but anything above 460-whp he said he had to go slicks because he would just spin tires and torque steer all over the place.
Like others have said, the RSX may be faster out of the box, but the 8 has a much greater potential in the long run

i did this backwards
I too owned an RSX before getting the 8. Mine was a 03 base model (160hp) so granted my observations will be different from those with the typeS. I didn't really mod the RSX as it was my daily driver and I had the Z to wrench on anyway. The #1 thing I miss about the RSX: gas mileage! I would consistently get mid-20s in the RSX and only get 16-18 in the 8. The reason I don't have the RSX anymore: I wanted an upgrade to something faster and RWD.
The bottom line: they're both great cars. Congrats on your new baby!

I drove my friend's Type S.. The FWD is definately a put off. It is not nearly as responsive. That and it was super loud once VTAK kicked in and the interior was not nearly as nice. Fold down seats were pretty useful though.

Congrats. It is a smart move to start with a cheaper car. When you are ready, then make the upgrade to an rx-8 or <insert rwd car>. Heck you should go with an S2k to stay in the vtec family.
I never knew rsx are fast cars. I just considered them to be a tarted up civic of sorts.
