I like this hood a lot. I might get the FRP one which is a lot cheaper since I plan on painting it anyway. Has anyone seen the FRP one?

That's the most assanine thing I've heard. My guess is that you have never seen either the Varis or the VIS in person. You're assuming that just because the Varis is JDM that it's better?

My point is this. In 10 years you won't have your car (accident, it's dead, etc). At that point would you rather be able to say man I'm out $1000 but at least I had a real Varis hood and not $500 to invest, buy more stuff, eat, etc..

Don't be a snob.

i've seen both in real life! i have a vis oem style cf hood and the fitment is ok, it can be better. the varis hood fits way better. Some poeple prefer to buy the finer things in life. Would you buy a fake louis vuitton wallet. would you buy fake nike shoes's? from your perspective "In 10 years you won't have " the wallet , shoes, etc. To most people real **** counts, not the fake crap thats been going around lately.

snob? i did nothing but tell the truth. a Varis is NOT a VIS.

BUT, i said absolutely nothing about because Varis is it JDM, that it fits better. i said NOTHING about the VIS not fitting well.

But i'll say something now:
i haven't seen the varis hood in person, but i have seen varis quality. it is top notch. yes i have seen this specific VIS hood in person. it fits fine but still isn't up to par with varis. maybe the one i saw wasn't the best, because its all hit or miss w/ vis. who knows. Note:this will be the only thing i say about quality comparison, which i never brought up in the first place.

My ONLY point is Varis is the real thing. By this point in time, people here already know i stand behind the authentics. Anyways, some people go for the real **** because it matters to them. For others, doesn't matter they just want the look-a-likes for a bargain. I never meant this to turn into a debate, because it has been beaten to death already. All i had stated was they weren't the same. they will never be the same, just look at the underside of the hood for the VIS or VARIS tag.

Look out, Jedi is here....

I HAVE seen both of these hoods in person and I can absolutely tell you that the Varis does in fact have better quality / fitment. Is that to be expected of EVERY single product those two make? Who knows...I can only speak from what I saw that day.

To me, I'd rather spend the extra money to get the real thing. Those who know me in person, know that's just how I am. Maybe I will or maybe I won't have my car in 10 years but the point (for me) is that for the amount of time I have the car, I will in fact know I have a great product made by a good company.

Touche! Although calling someone a "baby" for pointing out financial and minimal quality differences seems a little harsh. Different strokes, different folks; some people have to have the name brands to feel accepted. BTW, never seen or heard of fake Nikes and I could give two shirts about the namebrand of a piece of leather I sit on all day.

Discussion ended on my end.

It's not a matter of feeling accepted, its how we express ourselves. Is it wrong to buy the real authentic product? No, is it wrong to purchase the fake replica? No as well, but if you understand how the industry works and what it does to the industry you would appreciate it a heck of a lot more. BTW, is calling someone a snob is any better? If it doesnt matter to you then good for you, buy all the replica fake stuff you want, but for others that take stuff like this seriously you will never understand. If you havent gotten at this point you never will. BTW, you never heard of fake nikes? you live in chicago for christs sake!

yes, calling someone a snob wasn't necessary in the first place. all i did was state a fact, whether it be nice to know or not. i thought it was pretty obvious. yet to be insulted is another story. don't dish what you can't take.

it was never about feeling accepted. it's about one's self feeling assured. some of us love to have the real thing, and we contribute to it's continuation. yet again old beaten topic that i will not go over.

/end conflict

btw, here's some fake nike comparison pics. lol

Nike's are too narrow for me (pleading my black market ignorance). I'm an Adidas and NB guy.

We're waaaaay off topic though, so back to our scheduled thread...

Ahhh once again the real/fake wars!
IMO real/fake just impresses other guys (yeah... no thanks) Just like the people that think if you buy a certin type of car, it's to cover the size of your *****...
Kind of like they say, rich people didn't get rich spending money.

Anyways, I'd hate to order any thing thats gonna take months to get here and could be broke/damaged, then the nightmare of tring to return and have a new 1 shipped....

Trekk,
Conversation ended. We all have our opinions and are entitled to them. BTW, I'm a dad so priority-wise financially, I am on your side. Not trying to get in another pissing match.

i appreciate that buying a reasonably priced replica of an overpriced original is flexing my consumer muscle.

no one bothered (or apparently noticed) the fact that the bumper is also a replic, which brings me to my original point, if the quality is there (the varis may be better, but no one's knocking the quality of vis) and you can't tell the difference without asking. who cares?

i agree with trekk, and ngo even alludes to the point that it's an ego thing.

comparing nikes and carbon fiber hoods to prove a point is a little... off imo

a varis badge/sticker would impress maybe 5 people for every 100,000 whoever saw it, for me i'm not going to spend that money.

on a suit or a dress shirt i would.. .it's all about how you want to be noticed

i'm at work and i wrote this over the course of 10 minutes being interupted every 2, so sorry if it doesn't make sense but i wanted to give my very important opinion

suicide, seriosuly let it go man. this has topic has been beaten into submission. At this point its entirely up to the consumer who's buying it. Some will buy the real deal, some will buy the fakies. Using nike shoes and luois vuitton as a metaphor was clearly an example.

Varis hood = $1300

I'd have to save my allowance for awhile to get that.

All I can say is don't get a fake fake. If you go fake get the best fake you can buy.
