It is Black for sure....
I think so a Type S (since a bigger rotor than normal 8 or Type E), with MS kit and MS mag wheel. No wing - very interesting.
It looks very odd without the MS wing.

If that's true and that's what it looks like, I'm pissed :b
I wanted a color close to black but not black which is why I like the TI so much. That color is gorgeous but it looks like black to me.
EDIT: Honestly, after a closer look, that looks like nordic green!

In any case, here's the link to where I found these pics. All I know is that it's a new colour for '05. BTW the article is in Japanese....

While looking to buy my car, I searched the inventory on the Mazda USA website at quite a few dealers. I found another color listed, but with no matches. It seems to be listed for only some zip codes, and not at all times. The "Exterior:" box has all the available colors, and sometimes includes Black Cherry. I've never found a match. (Black Cherry Mica is a Miata color, but this is not mica, and is in the search window for the RX-8.) ???

I have read through the Japanese... but there is nothing new.
I wonder if there is a chance that their PCM will work on non-Japan spec RX-8 though :o... They will never release that I am sure
