You have no chance in a straight line drag. However, on the track, you could keep up.

Really? At our local autoX events a guy in a Civic hatch and another in a new MX-5 Miata runs circles around all sorts of hardware; Porsche's, Viper's, Ferrari's, you name it.

Driver skill on a road course is greater than car.

I didn't say anything about driver skill. Stock for stock with similiarly skilled drivers that is just a stupidly optimistic comment to make.

Besides, autoX is hardly track racing. The advantage for the cars you list go up exponentionally when placed on a real track, not a lot with cones. This is not to insult autoX I love doing it myself but it's comparing apples to oranges.

rev to 9k and dump that clutch, thats the only way

its ok he can still dump it at 8k... rev it up to 8k in neutral and drop it into drive. that should do it
