no, I wrapped them in vinyl. Cheaper than painting, and far far less work. Plus, if anything ever happens and you want to change it, no, sanding painting, filling etc... just use another piece of vinyl. You can get vinyl in just about every color to match the 8's exterior colors too.

Where'd you get the vinyl?
I'd love to do this. I have to take apart my console anyway. and how durable is it?
Think itll survive having 4 tires on the back of it every week or 2? (the tires are covered though, so no rubber to vinyl friction).

Yeah definitely share the secret. You said it was in your DIY but got the link for it? My paint is all scraped from the previous owner so I'm definitely interested in this. Looks a lot cheaper then painting too.

Here is the link for the DIY a while back

I actually redid the entire project and use an application fluid, it really helps eliminate any bubbles and make the whole thing go alot smoother. I actaully have a vinyl sticker business, so i have the vinyl here, but if you go to any local sign shop you could probably buy 4 feet of it from a 15" roll for a couple bucks and that would be enough to do it. The stuff i use is 9 yr stuff, so it holds up well.
If there are any questions on the DIY, PM me and ill help if i can. I was going to get with "Topgear8"... he has a few extra pieces if anyone wants to buy them prefinished. If you cant find a shope to sell you vinyl, signwarehouse.com. You can get a 15" roll of Piano black 10yds long for about $40. ask for the avery A9, its the better kind.
Good luck guys, and thanks for the compliments. It all should hold up very nicely for quite sometime.

Could you just throw an old blanket over it when you have to carry tires? That's what I do.
